Re: Rap Music
and now it's my turn to drop a rec:
https://soundcloud.com/your-old-droog
Sooo good, best thing I've heard this year, well def in top 5. I would suggest starting with "Hoodie Weather" and then checking out the "Your Old Droog EP". My friend says his voice sounds a lot like Nas, I don't know though, I don't listen to too much of Nas, but I don't think he sounds that similar to him. His LP is on its way.

J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive

I love this guy...

I love this guy...
Re: Rap Music
Surfing the what.cd forums, I have recently stumbled upon this precious gem that's coming straight from Tampa Bay '96 -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IvcvvNManY
I found J. Cole's new album to be a fun listen, he certainly stays relevant on most of the tracks, but I must admit that some of these productions, in my opinion, seem really dull ("'03 Adolescence", "Hello" and "Love Yourz") and wouldn't have such an impact on me without the guy himself spitting on the tracks. All in all, it's a fair effort and I'll surely check out his new stuff if he'll be releasing some.
Thank you for the recommendation.

Is there a ratio requirement for what.cd? I have the shitty indietorrents tracker, totally blows chunks.

Lupe Fiasco - Tetsuo and Youth

Re: Rap Music
The new Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly, is rockin' my world.
Re: Rap Music

Pouya - South Side Slugs
Worth a listen, some good production, and it does sound different with the mix of trap and that style of pop I can't figure out what is called. With the heavy side chaining on wide synths.
His voice is a little annoying.

Hardo - Trapnati
I've not listened to it more than halfheartedly twice yet, but it grows on me. Starts off really dark, gets harder then gradually becomes more upbeat. If I were to make a mixtape now I'd put Fast Life on it. I'd never guess a track like that would be on an album that starts like this.

Ilovemakonnen - Drink More Water 5
This is amazing. Cash Cash with Gucci and Super Clean are so addictive. I think you could easily hate his production style, or feel nauseous from it, but I love it.
Cash Cash is also on Gucci's Breakfast album that came out recently, with the Lunch and Dinner albums. They're all great, though Dinner really stands out for me. I've got a few more I've not listened to yet, like King Gucci and Atlanta Gave Me Vision. And I've not listened much to Trap House 5, but that's definitely a recommendation, too.

Fear Warnings on trapnati is dope, I really like Hardo's singing voice quite a bit.

Guilty Simpson's new album Detroit's Son is legit
Re: Rap Music
Good timing, just heard "R.I.P." on the radio today and had to look up who it wasClaud601 wrote:Guilty Simpson's new album Detroit's Son is legit
Re: Rap Music
Okay about 10 times through, it can't quite live up to that fucking opening. But tracks are concise and the Quannum/Blackalicious/El Producto like beats save the day when it works. Love a reviewer I read comparing him to Kool G Rap. Not bad, not taking it out of my car. "R.I.P.", "Blue Collar" and "Power Outage" win. Almost a Redman anachronistic/self-effacing feel in that he constantly talks about nailing his wife.Claud601 wrote:Guilty Simpson's new album Detroit's Son is legit
