I sold all my LPs to help pay for a tour in 2001. Don't really regret it, except I had a really clean first edition of Torch of the Mystics and that insane Shaking Ray Levis/Borbetomagus picture disc. Sold them for peanuts. But hey, driving from Portland to Boston & back takes a lot of gas.
You, of all people, should understand

Not getting to see the Birthday Party live, despite having been told about them. got near obsessed with them a couple of months after they split.
Not getting to roady the '88 Swans tour after Gira offered me it.
Letting the few hundred lps I had in Dublin disappear on me thanks to my not having a permanent address. That along with the record player I had to play them on. Then a little later the Sony midi system that the record player plugged straight into, though that was a straight theft/burglary.
Not having worked out a cheap way to get home from gigs in the local town yet, so missing loads of gigs. Think it's actually cheaper/or same price for me to get back from Dublin on the other side of the country as to get in from Galway.
Not finding a way to save the stack of NMEs etc my brother bought in the early 80s that I'd returned to frequently as reference up to about 10 years ago. Would love to have them here.

Re: Things we really, really regret
My brother, 3 years older than me, travelled to Berlin to see Zappa on his 1988-tour. He was my favorite musician back then, and I really wanted to go with my brother, but I would have missed school the next morning, so my mother didn't allow me to go. She said FZ certainly will come again to play concerts in Germany, and I can go then. As it turned out, the 1988-tour was Zappa's last, so I never got to see him.
I soon figured I basically dislike Zappa's 1988-(Big)band, but since his music has been accompagnying me since my mid-teens, it would have been nice to see him perform anyway.
another one:
I actually was in Berlin two years later, with my biology-class. Scheduled for our group was attending the musical "A Little Shop of Horrors". On the same night, Cecil Taylor, Evan Parker, Barry Guy and Tony Oxley played the concert that ended up on "Nailed" - one of my favorite free jazz-CDs. My teacher talked me out of having my personal little extra-FMP-culture-programme in Berlin, so I went with the others to see that horror thing.
