yeah.. the music on the LP is about 50% of the music on the four original tapes. I initially released the first three during a time that I was fairly unsure of my future in music and unsure of my desire to pursue a solo project. I grew to really like a lot of the music on those tapes and I wanted the recordings to be available in a form that was more condensed and impacting. The music released on the tapes can be a bit sprawling... I may release music from the two tapes you just picked up at a later point, but I really don't know what I'm going to do with those releases just yet.

just for the record, none of my self released tapes are "limited edition" and have all been kept in print. I'm trying to keep my solo work available for people if they want it and tapes are a great format for me to maintain availability in a physical format. I'm considering tape issues of Static Space and the split with Rene Hell.

if there's ever anything you're looking for or have questions about, just write me. my email is all over all of my releases. I'm sorry if you thought you were getting into something else in tracking down those tapes. Thanks for the support and I hope you enjoy those new tapes. I really think Challenger and GOC are my best solo work thus far.

Well that is news to me, and its fantastic that you're bucking the trend of planned obsolesence. It's just that vinyl is really the format i would rather listen to your music on (as many YS lps as Sonic Youth), but I'm with mudd if it's an edit of the tapes.

my planned obsolesence is in other forms.. such as not having anywhere on the internet where people could actually figure out that the tapes were staying in print.. d'oh.

but yeah.. tapes = in print. vinyl = actually limited and not generally doing mailorder for.

I prefer having my music on wax too, but it's such a pain in the butt to get LPs made, shipped and stored. all of my tapes are c-20s.. so I just buy boxes by the 100s of c-20s and have the covers saved on PDF files.. it's so easy that it'd be STUPID to not keep things in print. there's no point to it. I'm always trying to do things better.
