i'm sure jon will relay the correct info, but doesn't christoph cox's book have a chapter about that dvd or something?

what book, 'audio culture'? not that I recall, I remember some mentions in different chapters and in the timeline at the back, but it's been a while.

yeah, audio cultures. ben has a copy of the book (and i'm sure others do too) and can maybe verify, but i'm know remembering that maybe it just quotes from the dvd in a few places?

i really love that dvd - there is precious little visual documentation and recorded info about this area of music (aside from ad hoc youtubings). great thing to show people - i think it helped my girlfriend find this stuff a bit less impenetrable. i should go back and read some of the essays again too. . .

I feel really lucky to be able to check it out for free. Really interesting to hear the musicians talk about their stuff, which is rare.

The index of Audio Culture shows no reference to the DVD... someone once was cool at Hampshire I guess.

I'm currently making my way through Uncommon Ground: the Music of Michael Finnissy. Just catching up on some of the listening relevant to the last few chapters. Such an exciting and varied body of work. Unlike anything I've listened to before.

I really like it; mixture of accordion & electronics. Very abstract and pleasantly varied soundscapes.
Ernesto R sent me a copy, and I'm very glad he did, because I'd not heard of him, so wouldn't have normally picked it up. Looking at his website, he is touring central Europe in duo with Michel Doneda and has played with various mid-European names like Christian Weber, Thomas Lehn, Urs Leimgruber etc.

Well worth looking out for imo. I'll go straight on to a second listen....
