He's about as wise as Tater when it comes to choosing which plays to challenge.

Been spending the last two hours watching the offensive and defensive struggle of KC/Raiders. I get the feeling I'll know the ins and outs of the very worst football ever played after this season is over.

Well he is Tater-East, Scottie.

Someone elsewhere referred to Jamarcus Russell as Ryan Leaf bad; any truth to that? :?

He'd have to improve some to be Ryan Leaf good. Does that help?

goddamn! tale of two halves in NYJ/NE:

first half: Jets have an almost comically conservative offensive game plan, running straight ahead time and again. Ryan doesn't give Sanchez a chance to do anything. a bullshit fumble call (only upheld because the pile was too big and they couldn't see the ball come loose on replay), and some smart playcalling by NE lead to 3 FGs and a 9-3 NE halftime lead.

second half: Ryan's game plan becomes instantly clear. he had won the opening coin toss, but deferred to the second half, so they take the kickoff and Sanchez comes out firing, TD before NE knows what hit them, only TD of the game by either team. as for the Jets defense, they made Brady look entirely human, he did absolutely nothing in the second half. Revis (one of the best CBs in the league at this point) took Randy Moss out of the game just like he did Andre Johnson last week.

that's the first regular season game Tom Brady has lost since late 2006, and the Jets have now held both Houton and NE without an offensive TD. so yeah, Scott, their D is for real. WHOOOOOOOOOO!

Outside of the 27-3 run your team went on late in the game - you know, from the 2nd quarter on, I thought the Lions looked pretty good today.

one more Jets thing: you can't make halftime defensive adjstments if the offense shows you nothing in the first half. huge win for the Jets franchise.

Congrats, Jon! I have no frame of reference for what a win over a great team feels like. In fact, at this point, I'm losing my frame of reference for what a win of any kind feels like. But I bet having your team beat the Patriots is a pretty good feeling, especially with the rivalry.

The Lions D loked really good in the first half, totally stopping Peterson.

Yeah, if there's a better corner in the league than Darrelle Revis I'd like to know who it is.

He has taken, arguably, the two most dangerous receivers in the NFL completely out of the game in back-to-back weeks.

1) thank you. I can't believe how much I was screaming during a week 2 football game, usually the NFL doesn't get much attention from me until the Yankees are done. the second half was really a thing of beauty, the first time the Jets have ever beaten Brady in Giants Stadium, he was 7-0 previously.

2) it's hard to feel sorry for someone whose team in their favorite sport wins the Cup or comes close every year, not to mention whose hoops team won a title not too long ago (something that I have yet to experience in my 30+ years as a Knicks fan).

Hats off to Rex Ryan for not going into a prevent nothing defense on the Patriots' last drive of the game.

Brady play horribly as did Joey Galloway. The Jets were the better team out there today.

I know very little about Chansi Stuckey. What's his potential?

I wasn't looking for sympathy; it was just a statement of fact. The Lions are 1-25 in their last 26 games. It's hard for me to avoid it as a talking point. Competitive football is something I've only experienced as a detached observer for the past 10 years or so.

he's looked good in all three games I've seen so far this year (one preseason), he and Sanchez seem to have good chemistry already.

Brady had no answer for the blitz without Welker to dump the ball off to.

Chargers making the Ravens look really good.

his fill-in had a pretty big game, it was more that Brady was pretty inaccurate for most of the game.

...a credit to that Jets pass rush not letting Brady step into throws, and like you said Revis was blanketing Moss. Galloway wasn't particularly effective either. Nice to see the Pats lose. Another angel gets its wings.

I honestly think the Browns are the worst team in the NFL. Just a completely pathetic performance against the fucking Broncos (most unimpressive 2-0 start evarrrr). Idiot Mangini can't come up with any screens to keep Quinn from getting killed (not that he doesn't hold on to the fucking ball wayyyyy too long; and quit throwing 4 yard outs on third and 12 you moronic Domer goof). Maybe it's time for Marty part 2 because this is what he's good at: Taking teams that a responsible kumishiner (LOL @ the concept of that) would eliminate as the consequences of completely rotten ownership and dispersing the few players that any other team might charitably add to their roster, and making them respectable. It's a gift; a weird gift but none the less a gift.
