Re: well it's back but
Not that it matters so much with my post count, but I seem to be user_5111.
That new search functionality looks great btw. Especially happy to see "search topic titles only" now...

Re: well it's back but
and with board totals (which were higher before loss) it was probably phpBB's (MySQL?) fault.jon abbey wrote:the post count on the previous board wasn't accurate, as it included posts made that didn't make the transfer from the bagatellen domain to the noquam domain.
not even the fault but some fast but inaccurate algorithm to display them.
anyway, i think we've got all the stuff from the backup mark handed me (minus one broken post, and probably a few spam messages as well)

Some of these people obviously haven't registered again (and some are multiple or obsolete accounts), but the names presumably still need to replace the numbers to make the threads in which they appear comprehensible.

Re: well it's back but
yes, i will definitely be going through and renaming as many numbers as i can for non-registering posters. though i'm going to let it sit for a bit, in case they do decide to register - i can't combine a renamed account with a new account with the current script, but there are other ways of making that work.
slightly more complicated.
anyone see any reason not to dump the archived IHM, IHF, and IHE into their respective homes now?

Re: well it's back but
two things:
we've had a lot of hotlinked images not showing up in threads lately. i realize sometimes it can be hard to tell, since the cached image might show up on your screen, but a lot of hosts don't allow it and it makes the threads difficult to read, especially when the images are not accompanied by text. this board has an attachment feature which should be active for everyone, please experiment with using that in situations where hotlinking may be blocked. problem sites include discogs, rateyourmusic, and blogspot.
i want to get old posts merged into remade threads effectively. hopefully by the end of today redundancies are cleared up and we can merge the fora. turns out it's really, really easy to do if you bump the new version of the thread with a link to the old (thanks f&p).

Re: well it's back but
sounds good on the merging stuff.
on the ihmm front, just letting everyone know that i am gonna merge the two threads that were stickied. it just seems to further deter people / complicate things, and the discussion for both can easily be contained in one thread. lemme know if anyone objects.

Image-hosting sites such as http://imageshack.us/ are also an option. I'm assuming there is a storage limit per user or maybe per post.mudd wrote:this board has an attachment feature which should be active for everyone, please experiment with using that in situations where hotlinking may be blocked. problem sites include discogs, rateyourmusic, and blogspot.
