Amen to that.
Double amen. But I seem to recall the good Dr Chadbourne telling me he left a whole batch of original Parachute vinyl copies of this in NY when he moved away from there in the early 80s. Dunno if they ended up at Downtown Music Gallery - anyone seen a copy of this hanging out at Bruce's place lately? - but well worth hunting down. Torture Time, her duo with Chadbourne, is pretty extreme too.
Found the "Solo Violin" LP at Other Music in NYC two years ago, for only $12 I think. Great stuff.

See? Thought there were a few knocking about..

Well not 700000 but it sometimes feels that way. One of my favourite Eugene stories was when I ran into him in Bimbo Tower (cult Paris rekkid shop) a few years ago. He was there to offload some CDRs and we stepped out to grab a coffee.
"Don't you think you're flooding the market?" I asked, eyeing the huge sports bag full of Chad goodies (many still wrapped in old butter packets and socks).
"No! I've only released about forty this year so far!"
It was mid January.

Bill Dixon- Intents And Purposes

There are few records that made a bigger impact on me as I was being introduced to the new sound in jazz than this. It's been far too long since I've heared this.

That really is a cracking album, and is long overdue for a deluxe, properly mastered reissue. Good call, Walt.

Early Rhythm Pigs LPs need to see the light of day on CD - especially Choke on This and their self-titled album.

Were Culture Club's 12" remixes ever issued on CD?

all the classic New Orleans bounce stuff. I guess you can still get cds of some of it from amazon but most of it is oop. All the UGK and Geto boys stuff should be remastered and put on CD and LP too.

yes. all the first generation cash money stuff is really tough to find these days -- unlv, pimp daddy, lil slim, kilo-g, all the pre-hot boy$ artists that baby and slim either fired or murdered. that stuff is great and was all produced by mannie fresh. it will never get reissued, though. there would be so much legal trouble.

While I do include that early/pre cash money Mannie Fresh stuff on my wishlist, DJ Jubilee, Patnaz N Crime, and stuff like that which i've barely heard much of is what I really want put out again somehow. Atleast there is a new documentary on the stuff coming out soon

Honestly, if the issue is discussion of music, RIP JazzCorner & Bags.

Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.

I don't know about JazzCorner (two online chat sites is about I have time for), but, yes, the general level of quality discussion has certainly dropped at Bags, especially since Joe Milazzo and Michael Anton Parker stopped chipping in (with often lengthy but usually passionately argued posts).
But this is maybe an issue to be discussed on another thread - got any ideas for Reissue This, Jesse? You must have!

Dan,
Indeed I have reissue ideas, tossed out one near to my heart on the first page, just below your post.
I will revisit this anon.

Ah yes, forgive me (it got buried in Fractal prog nostalgia) - I would love to hear the Carter discs you mention.

Wasn't that slated for an Emanem reissue? Certainly long overdue for one, and I'd like to hear it again because I can't find the ancient Memorex cassette I recorded it on :(
