also, as you guys know, I barely follow this sport, but has there ever been a new rule change with as high a chance of fucking up a season as the new 15 yard/ejection illegal hitting rule? evidently called live, it will be both 15 yards and an ejection, but if it is reviewed and overturned, the ejection is overturned BUT THE !5 YARD PENALTY STANDS. hilarity will almost certainly ensue, college football continues to outpace everyone else for how poorly a sport can be run.

College football always had a lot of warts, but it's getting to the point that it's hard to take it serious anymore.

The dumbasses in the NCAA never learn from their mistakes. To their credit they tried to speed up the game about a decade ago; the trouble was they did it by letting the clock run after kickoffs, with nobody having the foresight to realize that people would take advantage of it by continuously kicking the ball OOB at the end of a half or fourth quartet. That was so fucking bad they changed it in midseason. This is terrible also; like something Goodellspeak would come up with.

Alabama looking impressive, taking a big punch early from Manziel and friends and going down 14-0, but then the offense got rolling, Manziel threw a few picks, and now ALA is up 35-14 after a really impressive long INT return for a TD.

crazy end to the Wisconsin/Arizona St game just now. it's too complicated to even explain, but it seems like the refs screwed it up about three ways on the last play and Wisconsin never had the chance to kick the easy chip shot gamewinning FG.

I don't know if it was more the refs fucking it up or just poor execution by Wisconsin to look like a fumble maybe had occurred as they center the ball rather than just kick the short field goal with plenty of time to line it up even at an angle.

The pedophile enablers lost to an underdog with a resume enhancing head coach so I spent part of the evening lurking on the Cult's scout board bathing in those hilljacks salty tears. To the credit of some of the more lucid ones, they are telling the whiners (the NCAA/B1G/refs hate us and actively conspire against us) to STFU and try to live their pointless lives with some degree of self worth.

Are we really getting Meeechigan and the toothless Huskies as the Brent and Herbie featured game? UConn is 0-2 against the state of Maryland at home and deserved to get roundly slattered by the Terps but for some dumbass turnovers that still couldn't stop Randy Edsall from beating the spread on his former employer. heh, plus the Yankees suck, but I always watch games like Alabama/A&M that have national championship ramifications. the other one I happened to turn on the end at like 2 AM when I was working, and just couldn't believe the end.

I've watched that YouTube a few times and I think the quarterback screwed himself by barely touching his knee down and then putting the ball down instead of handing it to the ref giving the ASU a chance to dive on it and cause confusion. I'm sure I heard the whistle blow so I assume the ref saw the knee hit even if the announcer was unsure if the ball was still live. The point is that even if everything was done legitimately, you still have to execute intelligently and not produce any opportunity for screwups to happen because of clock concerns.

Terps are 3-0; granted they haven't played much in the way of opponents but I can almost guarantee that fat Ralf would have either lost at least one of these or made comfortable wins nail biters. Now comes West Virginia.

I agree that the QB started the chain of confusion there, but what makes zero sense to me in an age where they review anything and everything is how the refs don't even look at the end of that game before trotting off the field. once they ruled the preceding play a dead play and not a fumble (correctly, it seems), then ASU should have been flagged for delay of game or the clock should have been stopped or something. dunno, really confusing.
