that's tough, dude, that curve was freezing everyone. floyd looked at one just a few batters before for strike 3.
plus he just threw one before that at 0-1, beltran had to think a fastball was coming, and when there's a 20 mile difference between a guy's pitches, you kind of have to pick one or the other to sit on beforehand.
give it up to the cards and the rookie wainwright, especially since they're about to be steamrolled.

that game really frustrated me. i think you've gotta swing. the strike zone had been established as pretty big and wainright had been getting that pitch on the outside all inning. you've gotta try to win the game rather than just walking in a run.
bah...regardless, the tigers seem to be as big a lock as there has been in awhile unless this break for them affects their performance.
