so many things I hate about postseason baseball, let's name a few:

the dreadful national baseball broadcast teams, who invariably know less about the teams they're watching than the bulk of their fans watching at home.

the inane scheduling times, so that fucking TBS can show every game without any overlapping (which never works anyway). 6 PM local time for games sucks, partly because of the strange sun setting effects going on most places in that time range, partly because there's much less atmosphere in the stadium than there would be for a 8 PM start.

way too many days off in between games, so that teams can go to a three man rotation, four tops.

so, yeah, whoopee. here we go.

The Twins/Tigers play in on Tuesday is on TBS at 4 pm. Nice going for the 9.8% unemployed, everyone else, suck it!

The Dodgers get a red hot St. Louis Cardinals squad with horses on the mound and a mean lineup anchored by Albert The Great. Meanwhile, Manny's been awful for two months and everyone else has been stinking it up for about two weeks until finally mixing in a few RBIs to clinch the NL West and stave off a complete choke for the time being. If I were a betting man, I'd have my money on the Cards, who won 5 of 7 meetings against the Blue crew this year. It was play the redbirds at home or let the Rockies win and get the Phillies in Philly, so I guess home field makes this the better of the two scenarios. The Dodgers don't look like they'd beat either of them. Hopefull Torre can get the boys swinging the bats again and the pitchers find a way to stymie all those tough Cardinal hitters.

oh, and how can I forget home field advantage in the World Series being assigned by the All-Star Game?

who will break their division series losing streak first, Torre (4 in a row) or the Yankees (3 in a row)?

no, that was stupid, and this is stupid. if you can't just use the best record between the two WS teams (this works just fine in the NBA), then the league with the better overall record in interleague play should get it.

yeah, that's unbelievable. that makes tomorrow's game much bigger for his future career in Detroit, I think. if they lose and he goes 0fer again, the local press and fans will not soon forget it.

At least in Joe's defense he's a decent ump, albeit one who has stated EXPLICITLY on the field he holds grudges and gets even, CB, Gibby and Chuck just suck, no two ways about it. Chuck's at least a nice guy though. He feels bad when he blows calls. CB has never been good enough to ID a bad or missed call and as far as Gibby knows he's NEVER MADE a bad call.
