So glad spurs sold Eriksen. He should be at his peak at his age but he’s more suited for serie A, shame.

LIke my buddy Mou I took in the Rats - Bayern match which was a missed opportunity for Leipzig, with Sabitzer blasting one over the goal from the spot and Werner all alone in the box drilling it wide, the two best chances of the match. I was a bit surprised how deep Leipzig set up and how little possession they had in the first half, but certainly looked dangerous on the counter. The second half Bayern were a little more cautious and allowed Rats to grow into the game. Bayern probably lucky to get a draw, and Rats will rue these draws against top four teams which might cost them the title. The CL matchup with Spurs might be quite dull if both teams set up deep looking to counter and capitalize on the other's mistakes. We'll see.

Eriksen's Inter come back from 2 down in Milan (didnt start but hit the cross bar on a free kick from way out). Such a funny Inter team, all these EPL castoffs, as my son said, they'd be the best team in the world if it was 2016. But now they're top, it'll be interesting to see how they handle the CL which I dont think will be a priority for them as they dont have a young or deep squad.

Claud, maybe he should be at his peak, but he covered more ground than any Spurs player for at least three years in a row, maybe four. So there are a lot of miles on the odometer. I have no ill will towards him, the guy ran his skinny ass off for Poch, and I think it may be wearing on his body, seems natural to want to seek out a less physically taxing league, and team where he doesnt have to shoulder so much of the midfield creative load.

@DA, was this posted before or after Mr. Meat was put in medically induced coma in Russia sweating out on benzos? Twelve steps to a happy life . . . . . . .

Holy shit, wow, City banned from CL for two seasons, we'll see if its reduced upon appeal. It seems certain Pep is gone after this season now.

This feels like one of those things that will magically disappear if enough money is spent but I guess we'll see what happens.

Son out for the season in all likelihood. Fractured his arm in the first few minutes and still played the whole match and scored the match winner in the 93rd

I saw that today and was confused cause he played like a savage for the time I saw of the game [second half]. You guys may be properly fucked now. I'm not convinced with Kane but Son has been putting in heavy work this season.

Meanwhile, missed the Reds/Atleti game today for work related things, which, I've seen them lose enough in the last 12 years I've been following so I guess that's ok.

Is it gonna be a house divided in here when Spurs play the Rats tomorrow? I need to pay closer attention to the matchups, I've been slacking this season.

In Lutz' house? Haha, last I heard his son wanted to sit in the away section. Obviously I want Spurs tomorrow and the return leg, but I will root for whomever gets through. Would like to see Leipzig, Spurs or Atalanta make a deep run. Although it would be interesting to see what would happen if City were to go on and win it now. I will say I dont think its going to be a Spanish team this year.

Our lineup could possibly be:

Aurier-Toby-Sanchez-Tanganga
----Ndombele---Dier/Winks
----------Lo Celso-----------
Bergwijn - Dele - Lucas

4-3-3 with Dele as a false 9. This works because both Lucas and Bergwijn are good at tracking back. You could also see Lamela in there somewhere. I feel like we might see Ndombele-Dier in the double pivot, I dont think Mou trusts Winks, but then again, I dont think he trusts Ndombele either.

it's true, my boy will root for spurs, me for rats. so let's hope spurs win, or will he ever forgive me :-) ... very possibly they will, since rats' complete central defense is out (so just put somebody quick up front who falls over easily). that totally sucks about son (my boy's fellow spurs fan in class is korean and now they're both pissed). anyway, hopefully it'll be some good chaotic fun today and not decisive.

my commie dad: oh how nice to see an East German team playing at the top level again
me: yeah dad, totally (biting my lip not to burst his bubble with "no dad, its not a East German team, but literally an Austrian corporation franchise based in Leipzig").
dad: are they the former Locomotive Leipzig ?
me: yeah, dad, i think so, they're sponsored by Red Bull now
dad: it figures

hope he's satisfied with my answers and doesn't google :?

So, I actually watched the Atalanta/Valencia game. I'd be ok w Atalanta having a go at it if Liverpool can't get past Atletico. Actually, if not Liverpool I'd be ok with any team winning it for the first time.

after John Berryman

Spurs, friends, are boring. We must not say so,
After all, the ball flashes, the gaping goal yearns,
we ourselves yell and yearn,
and moreover Jose told me as a fan
(repeatingly) 'Ever to confess you're bored
mean you do not understand

Football Tactics' I conclude now I do not understand
football tactics, because I am heavy bored.
Spurs bore me,
tactics bore me, especially Jose's special tactics,
Jose bores me, with his plights & gripes
as bad as achilles,

who loves tactics and valiant defending, which bores me.
And the tranquil referee, & linesmen, look like a drag
and somehow the ball
has taken itself considerably away
into the stands or hills or sky, leaving
behind: me, yawn.

haha, but you may not say so. also we just gotta appreciate them differently: e.g. lucas moura giving the ball away might once have been boring, but the way he now deliberately seeks for the thickest throng of defenders to ricochet off has raised his art to another level. also spurs are always really exciting playing through the back ... while i hope real can hold themselves together for long enough to throw out pep, at least it's fun how clay-footed many of the big teams appear right now, barca, city, tuchel seems to have lost all control at psg, juve already looking for a new coach (if sarri should deliver the title and again be fired, that would be some achievement), bayern are still in an ole/lampard feelgood phase that can evaporate any moment ... atalanta games will now have to be played in fifa 20 ... which means spurs could use harry and sonny? ... here's hoping rats will win something before they're torn apart after this season ...
