Have the Knicks removed Zach Randolph from the trade block? The positive environment on the team may keep him in line and playing great team ball like he has so far.

they'd have big problems right now if they dealt him, but the primary goal is still to get under the cap for LeBron if possible, so pretty much anyone besides Wilson Chandler, Gallinari and maybe Nate and/or Lee are available.

Last night was the first time the Pistons really took advantage of the edge I've been saying Iverson gives them over Billups: AI drives the lane, draws defenders and gets wide open looks for the other Pistons. Iverson is the only player this team has had the past 6 years who can truly create his own shot. A rare instance of Rasheed having two consecutive strong games, too. If they keep playing defense like that, night in and night out, they'll be good.

Don't you think that Chandler's emergence this year makes it likely that Lee is playing somewhere else next season? OTOH, I think that Nate is a D'Antoni type of player and isn't going anywhere.

I read that Curry almost got traded to Charlotte in a three-way trade. I don't know who the Knicks would have received in return.

I was hoping Chandler would be a SF, but it seems like D'Antoni wants him as a PF. between him and Gallinari and Lee becoming a restricted free agent next summer, I agree that it's likely that Lee will be dealt along with one of the bad contracts.

they did make the Finals last year, and have Gasol for the entire year this time, plus Bynum is back. it's still mid-November, though.

GO is looking pretty good. He still may be injury-prone (the jury's still out on that one), but it's becoming clear that if he can stay on the court he's far from a bust. Even raw, sucking wind, and tentative, he's been altering games (the Twolves activated Jason Collins just to deal with him! That's a fucking victory in itself) and putting up decent numbers. The sample size is tiny, but hey, he's no 'Kandi at least.

There are reports that Al Harrington will be traded to the Knicks for the expiring contract of Malik Rose today. The Knicks are getting better and more entertaining at the same time. I guess David Lee is on his way out.

Vecsey is reporting that, other people have said it's for Jamal Crawford, let's see.

I also think this would pave the way to move Randolph without having to play Curry, not necessarily Lee. Quentin Richardson's minutes would also hopefully be impacted, with Chandler playing more SF.

"The Knicks, Warriors and Clippers are talking about a three-way deal that would involve Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins being sent in a cap-space clearing move that would bring in Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley and Al Harrington."

"The Knicks, Warriors and Clippers are talking about a three-way deal that would involve Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins being sent in a cap-space clearing move that would bring in Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley and Al Harrington."

ESPN reported a one for one trade of Harrington for Crawford.

There is a rumored second trade:

"The Clippers will also reportedly send Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley to the Knicks for Zach Randolph. "

That makes the Newsday beat writer much more reliable than Peter Vecsey.

yeah, I forgot Amare, he and LeBron would be ideal, although they'd need a defensive center and have Amare at PF.

Curry's health situation is pretty much that he's fat, as far as I can tell.
