Absolutely. Terrible play-calling. One of the worst offensive fourth quarters by a team that I've seen since a certain unmentionable Superbowl. But the officiating was extremely one-sided too.

That 100-97 game last night was too much like basketball for my taste. Every play was a scoring play.

I agree with you 100%. I get up really early for work, so I decided to record the game and was planning to watch it with Wynton on Thanksgiving morning. When I saw the final score this morning I have admit that it actually pissed me off. I have no desire to watch it.

Shit is getting out of control.

I mean, there were 7 turnovers, 3 defensive TDs and 8 sacks, there was a lot more D being played than one might think if they didn't watch the game. fantastic game IMO, I was super into it.

I watched it. As I said, too many scoring plays for my taste. I didn't say they were all on offense.

really as intense an offensive based NFL game as you will ever see, but the defense made a lot of plays and made the offenses make a lot of tough plays (so many sick catches!). Aaron Donald and Pat Mahomes both at the top of their game, really the most enjoyable game I've seen in a long time (playoff games I guess are a different category). I was watching on DVR and I had a ton of work things I was supposed to be doing and I kept meaning to stop but it was riveting. but you know my roots are Air Coryell...

I wanted to say going in that it would be maybe the best offensive showdown in league history, but then I thought that Saints/Rams the prior week might have been even better. Mahomes is amazing though, 6 TDs and 5 turnovers, but only one a truly bad play, the other four two insane strip sacks by Donald and two long downfield INTs when he was just desperate in the final minute (they got the ball back in between somehow).

I’m telling you, I’m having as much fun watching Mohomes as I did watching Marino when he first entered the league. I had never seen a QB with Marino’s skillset before, and I’ve never seen a QB with the skillset Mahomes possesses before.

I’ve already seen him do two things that I’d never seen a QB do in the 40 years I’ve religiously watched this game. Reminds me of the games I saw Vick play in his rookie season.

I happened to be flipping through the SI NFL preview issue last night and they rated KC's QB situation 30th in the league coming into the year, ahead of only CLE and BUF. well done, professional evaluators!!

In fairness, even most Chiefs fans thought he’d be a project. I honestly thought this season would be a pretty substantial step backwards for the Chiefs. Instead, they’ve been a top three team all season. Most pragmatic fans here have even stopped waiting for the Mohomes coming back to Earth moment.

Now, the postseason will always be in doubt, as that’s when Reid usually forgets how to coach professional football. But, there’s the possibility that this particular team is so high-powered that they could overcome it.

And with defense being completely irrelevant this year, that won’t be a downfall for them. Though in all honesty, the Chiefs defense is much better now than they were when the season started. And that’s still without Eric Berry.

Absolutely insane affair, I was getting texts from people I've not heard from in years at midnight. Don't leave out the batshit/bizarre vibe of the Coliseum.

The entire situation has been yet another clusterfuck in hindsight. But in real time, eh, mistakes may have been made, but they refused to turn over the video, which they had the right to do. So the Chiefs and the NFL had to wait it out, which just made Friday afternoon that much worse.

As you noted, the lack of any real independent investgation is very troubling.

Allen is an amazing athlete, I just don’t know if he’ll ever be a great NFL QB. He’s certainly not in a great environment/system to facilitate it..

I actually thought the Pats/Vikings game was quite good, as well. The final score betrayed how hard fought it was, IMO.
