The Buffalo defense was SO GREAT today. Let me ask you mavens: is that a no-name group or does it have stars on it?

Somebody wrote elsewhere that Green Bay is 0-6 at the Ralph.

I didn't watch any part of the game but I did see on the highlights that GB receivers dropped seven passes and Aaron Rodgers also made some errant throws.

They have three bona fide stars on their defensive line, all having very good seasons. Mario Williams was picked #1 in the entire draft in 2006, Marcel Dareus #3 in 2011 and Kyle Williams, a fifth round pick, has made three Pro Bowls.

I watched the game alongside the Pats debacle. GB receivers did drop some passes, but the Bills defense was stout, and Rodgers looked discombobulated much of the game. There wasn't much Buffalo offense though, and they almost blew it near the end, when, needing one first down to ice the game (up 6), on 3rd and 4(?) Orton went long, unsuccessfully, forcing a punt with about a minute and a half left. Such a dumb play call. Luckily for them, there was no return and a play or two later the game-clinching safety occurred. It was their defense all game. One of the interceptions was gorgeous.

Man, no truer words were ever spoken than Jon's remark about the Jets always finding a way to lose. Jeezus H. Christ.

Odell Beckham is really unbelievable, he might be the unanimous Rookie of the Year despite missing the first four games. he has 9 games in a row with 90+ yards now, one short of Michael Irvin's alltime record, and 11 TDs in 11 games.

they need to make the playoffs first, their remaining schedule is BRUTAL. the next five games they have SF and ARI twice each plus @PHI before closing with a home game against STL. they're a game out of the playoffs currently, it's far from certain they even get in.
in retrospect, this looks a lot like worrying about who Germany would have to play in the World Cup. when you're the best, it doesn't matter much how hard your schedule is.

In retrospect, the schedule wasn't brutal. SF went into decline amid rumors of the impending departure of their coach, AZ didn't have Carson Palmer for either game and Philly was a mediocre team once their special team performance stopped being extraordinary.

Truth is, it's hard to generalize about the NFL due to the 16 game season.

I never doubted Seattle would put it together. I mean, yes, anything can happen but I just didn't think it would with them because their defense can crank it up at any time plus the QBs they faced besides for Arizona just weren't getting it done. The decline of the Iggles can also be tied to Sanchez not being up to Foles level. Kaepernick has been a disaster lately too.

Speaking of disasters, Johnny Football.

And speaking of disasters, it's time for Goodellspeak to come down hard on that cunt Jeff Fisher for his players acting like fucking thugs yesterday.

Beckham yards/g

44
28
34
156
108
93
146
90
130
143
148

I just hope he doesn't lead the league in late hits/reception. I think the Redskins and Rams committed five in the last two weeks.

I know this belongs on another thread, but it's related. Picking up ODB in fantasy midseason allowed me to charge from the back of the back to a championship.

Just read that Eli Manning's QBR, 93.5 overall, is 132.5 when his intended target is ODB! That's the highest QBR for any receiver in the league.

the Giants are about to play their 5th entirely meaningless game in a row, meaning both teams were already mathematically eliminated before the game started. that has to be close to a record, if not the record.

What a couple of fucking idiots:
The Cleveland Browns have suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon for an unspecified violation of team rules one day before their season finale against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Browns announced the suspension in a release Saturday. Wide receiver Phil Bates has been promoted from the practice squad to replace Gordon on the active roster.

Both Gordon and rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel were absent from the Browns' walk-through Saturday morning, and the team had trouble locating them, a source close to the team told ESPN's Pat McManamon.

Gordon also was late getting onto the practice field Friday and emerged from the team's facility for the outdoor workout wearing teammate Travis Benjamin's jersey.

Geno Smith with the first 'perfect' passer rating by any QB this year. way to do it when it hurts the team (moving them from #4 to #5 or #6 in the draft, I believe).
