Seriously, he was no Tom Brady, but his 11 TDs in the 76 season stood as a record for 25 years. That's worth some bragging rights at the very least.

Grogan was a tough motherfucker and sometimes ery entertaining to watch. I've mentioned many times that the Grogan/Marino air wars were some of the most entertaining games I've ever seen.

He was on an unnamed sports talk radio program a couple of months ago. He was very straight-forward and open about everything he went through and sounded as though he learned many important lessons from it.

I thought it might have to be the NFC team and I probably was more optimistic about the Giants' chances than most, but no, not really. where they really got lucky was not having to go to New Orleans for the conference championship game, that would likely not have ended well.

I was convinced the balance of power was on the NFC side of the ledger but this might have been Belichick's, who wore a hoodie at the Pebble Beach golf tourney, best coaching job ever to come as close as he did; keeping in mind that he was *very* fortunate to beat the Ravens.

he also got really lucky that the Jets, Steelers, and Texans all imploded, and he only had to beat Denver and Baltimore to get to the Super Bowl, and as you said, he was very fortunate to survive the BAL game.

I think it took more luck for the Giants to beat the Niners than the Patriots to beat the Ravens.

It took two muffed punts and a horrible game from Alex Smith for the Giants to win. The Niner defense is much better than the Giants defense and played better in that game.

The Patriots overcame a two turnover deficit to beat the Ravens. Yes, the Patriots were lucky that Lee Evans didn't hold the ball but they would have had a 50% chance of winning even if Cundiff had kicked the FG.

There was a study done over 22 NFL seasons that found that the home field advantage was about the same whether for teams that played in domed stadiums and non-domed stadiums. Non-domed teams won an extra 0.02 games per season, or 1 extra game per 50 seasons.

Domed teams won 1.35 more home games than road game per season over this 22 season sample.
