Having watched the Cavs game last night, I may have complained in the past about the treatment he got by the refs in the Finals against the Mavs, but Dwayne Wade is an incredible talent who can drop a shitload of points on you at any time.

he's also become fantastic at stealing the ball, second in the league right now, only behind Chris Paul.

I agree, Cap. And the thing is, it's much more impressive now that he has to actually earn it the way every other player does. The league seems to think there's only upside to officiating star players according to a double standard, but there's a backlash against players who get the starfucker treatment.

Man, Dan Crawford just kills the Pistons, especially Rip. He just T'd up Rip after Rip got fouled for the third or fourth time with no call and Rip went nuts.

Jason Maxiell's had a couple spectacular dunks tonight, but look for the one on a lob pass from Rip that's sure to make the highlight reels.

I always had an appreciation for what he did, Nags; I was just upset that he got the starfucker treatment when he didn't really need it. Plus I remember having a discussion with Abbey and you as to how long his career would last with the way he played because he doesn't really have the "put together by a team of genetic mad scientists" body that Lebron has yet he really throws himself into the scrum. Then again I wondered about that with Earl Monroe versus Walt Frazier and Earl may have lasted longer at a high level.

Tremendous game, Detroit-Orlando. Pistons lose Rasheed early in the game to a hamstring sprain but McDyess, Kwame Brown (!) and Maxiell play huge. McDyess is a MAN. 13 points, 18 rebounds (7 offensive) and some huge hustle plays to loose balls. Rip goes for 29 points and a career high 14 assists.

Some of the highlight reel plays are the Maxiell dunks and a ridiculous circus shot by fan favorite Walter Herrmann on a coast to coast drive he finished with a reverse along the baseline that was at the most ridiculous angle.

Really exciting game.

Goddamn Nags; if the Pistons are able to get Kwame Brown to play up to what his potential was supposed to be, that might be the most amazing story of the season.

Lakers have lost seven straight in Portland.

Exciting little dust-up after Ariza took Rudy down hard on a fast break. Looks like Rudy will be okay, but the little fracas after may shake out with a suspension or two.

39 for Chris' boy Hughes tonight. it really speaks to the low talent level on NY (and the nice job that D'Antoni is doing) that he's one of their three best players after dropping entirely out of Chicago's rotation.

impressive comeback by Cleveland, outscoring the Clips 35-14 in the 4th quarter and stealing the W on a 3 pointer by Mo Williams (who was 3-16 at that point) with 6 seconds left.

That's Clipper basketball, baby. Outplay an opponent for three quarters then crumble.

I'm glad Rudy Fernandez is OK after Ariza's flagrant foul last night. The young Spaniard is a fun player to watch.

That was so awesome. Thank you, Larry! And Nate!
I haven't seen the Knicks at all, so it was a treat to see Nate at work.

he's the most exciting player in the league this year, taking Monta Ellis' crown from last season.

he's averaging 27 PPG since Feb 10, up there with the elite superstars, and just under 23 PPG for the entire season in games where he gets 30+ minutes.

Good game by your boys, Jon. Took it to the Pistons in Detroit.

yeah, I thought Detroit played well, led by the ageless McDyess (career high 22 boards!), but somehow NY pulled it out. my man Nate got in for layup after layup in the halfcourt, plus he outtipped Amir Johnson (a foot taller) for a jump ball.

Detroit's starters played well, but got very little help from their bench, and NY had an alltime franchise low for turnovers with 3 (the league record for a game is 2). plus somehow D'Antoni had the previously worthless Quentin Richardson in down the stretch of OT, and he actually hit a couple of big shots to put it away.

also, David Lee is quietly second in the league in rebounding, and first in double-doubles (52!), he and Howard are way ahead of everyone else in the latter category. Lee's recent streak of 24 straight double-doubles was only the third that long in the last 25 years, Barkley and Karl Malone also did it.

Nice Texas two-step for the Lakers, winning in Houston without Lamar Odom then following it up with another victory in San Antonio to clinch the Pacific Division and a playoff berth.

Bynum is running on the treadmill.

Nobody in this league deserves a championship more than Antonio McDyess. Dude works his ass off and is such a quality guy.

I was really impressed with him the other night. I was pretty sure he was washed up when NY traded him in the Marbury deal (!), and I'm usually pretty accurate with that kind of thing, but obviously way way way off with him.
