A bunch of young QBs looked good this week, including Garrapalo. As indicated earlier, I alwaysb liked Siemian; I just have this premonition that he's going to get killed--maybe because he wasn't too durable at NU.

Re the Rams, I dunno why Young and the other guy puffed them up so much. Maybe to make the game seem important? Did anyone else watch it?

My general feelings about the color guys is the same as last year. I thought they were all pretty good except Simms, who remains awful. I missed tirico, who's probably my favorite play-by-play guy and seems to have a great relationship with Gruden.

If NBC Spurts turns Tirico into a Domer shill it will be the worst thing they've ever done, which is really saying something.

Asking him to defend Brown with no help is just terrible strategy.

They'll likely mix up his schedule. But even if they get him a rental home in South Bend it's only a matter of time before Michaels retires. Which many speculate as the reason NBC went after him as hard as they did.

Next season will be the last on Michael's contract. Expect Tirico to replace him in 2018.

Right! I knew it was something like that, but couldn't remember the details.

I wonder what Collinsworth plans on doing? I'd assume he isn't looking to leave that gig any time soon. I think he and Tirico would be a great team.

Yes, Tirico is very good at setting the color commentator up. I wonder who ABC plans on teaming with Hubie, assuming he still wants the gig.

I'd like to see a Boomer/Opie team. It would be epic in its awfulness.

With everything I've heard about Berman I'm sorry I missed the game.

Have you all heard the Kevin Harlan radio call on the guy that ran on the field during the game? Fucking hilarious!

Yeah, I just heard that he was a juvenile on one of my NFL podcasts this morning. If I were his father he'd be in a world of hurt right now.

Possibly the best sportscasting moment in history.

Kevin Harlan for President! How the hell has he been relegated to radio?

wow, that was a strange win for the Jets, countless long BUF TDs, seemingly no pressure on the passer from easily their best unit (the DL), and the offense scoring almost at will.

I went to bed after the the first half, and the final score surprised me this morning. The Jets looked really good: I thought they'd win by 30.

Partial PFF comments on the Jets.

"Fitzpatrick put together one of the best performances we’ve seen from him in his career. Even though his throw locations weren’t always perfect, he picked apart the Bills’ defense. At the halftime mark, he was accurate on 9-of-9 on passes targeted 10-plus yards downfield, including 4-of-4 on passes 20-plus yards downfield. Some passes fell incomplete in the second half, but he still connected on six deep passes for 178 yards, with one drop. When the Bills tried to dial up pressure with a blitz, Fitzpatrick responded by completing 8-of-9 passes, including the touchdown. Buffalo didn’t have an answer to slow him down, and it led to the second-highest grade for a QB through the first 17 games of the season."

"Revis gets the negative headlines, but Jets’ D-line doesn’t dominate as expected

Yes, Darrelle Revis got burnt. Yes, he allowed 91 yards and had three missed tackles. But there were more issues than just him on the Jets’ defense Thursday night. The star trio of Muhammad Wilkerson, Leonard Williams and Sheldon Richardson combined for only nine pressures that were the result of beating a block against an offensive line missing a very good starting left tackle in Cordy Glenn. All signs heading into the matchup pointed towards the Jets’ defensive line dominating, and that wasn’t close to the case. That combined with Revis’ struggles for a second straight game is cause for concern."

Did Nantz and Opie go the whole game without mentioning how Goodellspeak and the other owners are trying to force Buffalo into building a new stadium despite the fact that team management and the fans don't want one and I'm sure the city has other pressing financial needs? I really like Bills fans and don't want them getting screwed like St. Louis did which is plenty bad enough.
