Re: NBA Offseason 2015
David Lee possibiities, with a trade for Gerald Wallace favored: http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2015/7 ... -david-lee
Wallace would give them a $5 mil break on salary (15 vs 10), and probably nothing else.

I don't think Boston does that, I think based on that list, Minnesota or the Lakers or GS has to keep him.
Re: NBA Offseason 2015
DeAndre Jordan to DAL, which obviously fucks the Clippers, but Dallas is crazy thin and has no PG.
Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Damn, the Clipjoint is paying dearly for that choke job.
Re: NBA Offseason 2015
yeah, it seems like Jordan took less money and went to a worse situation just to get away from Chris Paul's personality.
Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Now that Rivers has Pierce to go along with his son, maybe he can see if Garnett can "walk through that door" too!

Aldridge to the Spurs, I am already hoping their charter plane crashes (no one needs to die, but every player breaks all four limbs).

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Wow, I had no idea that was the situation. Was anybody talking about this during the regular season and playoffs? I realize this is the type of gossipy crap that the World's Leader in Sports Entertainment Broadcasting traffics in but I don't recall hearing any of this from the usual suspects.jon abbey wrote:yeah, it seems like Jordan took less money and went to a worse situation just to get away from Chris Paul's personality.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Maybe it's being in the West, but I would say it's common knowledge out here. We hear often about Paul snapping at teammates and inciting chippiness in games. Barnett, Tolbert and others have talked for years about Paul's frustration level with teammates interfering with his effectiveness as a leader. He's not fun to play with. I don't think MJ was, either. It's not necessarily a decisive factor. But with Paul, I think it has gotten progressively worse as he sees his chances to get a ring in his career slipping away. After one of the Bogut/ Jordan dustups the season before this past, I remember Speights saying "It all comes back to Paul" and how he plays and wants his teammates to play.Captain Hate wrote:Wow, I had no idea that was the situation. Thanks, Cap!
Good article on the Spurs' signing of Aldridge striking fear in the W's hearts: http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2015/7 ... e-warriors
I don't know. Dubs bench is still much deeper, and the combination of Bogut and Ezeli might wear them down (go big!). I still like our chances, but they are going to be a very formidable team.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Well, Hibbert is certainly an upgrade rental in the paint for the Lakers. I'd rather them just tank another season completely than shoot for middle of the pack, but whatever.
Re: Chris Paul--there was a late-season dust up between he and Deandre that was in the papers here. It was never played up as a character flaw with Paul, though. He's just fiery and wants to win.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
That was clearly Jordan's fault. But I'm sure this wasn't the decisive event or anything, it was the general atmosphere:Noj wrote: Re: Chris Paul--there was a late-season dust up between he and Deandre that was in the papers here. ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz: "He was tired of Paul’s constant barking and petty gestures, like distributing high-fives to the three other guys on the floor following a timeout but somehow freezing out Jordan. Optics aside, the biggest issue for Jordan was that, despite the leaps and bounds he made to be named first team all-defense, the Clippers always treated him like the player he was when he arrived in the NBA, and never like the player he’d become."
I will say that I think Paul's abilities has made Jordan look better than he is. He has no real post game, is a horrendous FT shooter, and I wouldn't be surprised to see his value tumble in Dallas.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
that Jordan non-shot was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in the NBA, we definitely talked about that here at the time.
so I'd be a little surprised if the Nets did this, but there is talk of CLE sending the Haywood deal (waivable) and Varejao (to make salaries match) to BKN for Joe Johnson, and then CLE would sign David West to fill Varejao's spot. that team would be crazy loaded:
Irving
Joe Johnson
LBJ
Love
Mozgov
West
Thompson
Shumpert
Dellavedova
ok, maybe not quite as deep as I thought, but that is a crazy top 7 or 8.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
For all of Jordan's inability to create a shot, I think he's an upgrade over Chandler and his loss will definitely negatively impact the Clip Joint. And as much as I like CP3 he still hasn't made it past the second round of the playoffs.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Mo Williams back to the Cavs, this time instead of the second best player he will be about the sixth.
these top few teams are seriously loading up, David West signed for the minimum to join Tim Duncan's going away party.

Re: NBA Offseason 2015
Has any team ever entered the season as a bigger conference favorite than Cleveland 2015-2016?

Has any team had a worse off season than Portland?

Probably not but Sacramento is a mess.Captain Hate wrote:Has any team had a worse off season than Portland?
How long before either Karl is fired or Cousins starts acting up?
