Gordon: How do the two-way contracts with the G-League impact the salary caps?

They don't. Thus, a two way player can spend up to 45 days on an NBA roster and not count against the cap. If the team wants him for longer than that, it has to convert his contract to the league minimum, which would count against the cap.

Dallas wants Danny Green very badly. Green wants to return to Toronto with Kawhi but if that option is precluded, will probably take the Dallas offer. If he gets antsy and signs with Dallas, then that may influence Kawhi.

There's almost no interest in Boogie. He's probably hoping to go to a Kawhi-less Los Angeles team, possibly for less money than he got last season.

I hate the idea of trading Igoudala and two #1's for the right to sign Russell to a four year max contract but that's what they did.

It's difficult to think of the Warriors without Iguodala. He looked like his game suffered somewhat from increased minutes in the finals because of injuries but he was still the consummate professional. Nothing lasts forever but it's hard to imagine him not being missed.

LAL are up to 30% to win the 2020 Championship. I'd say they are at least a 2-1 favorite to sign Kawhi. The LAL will have three of the top six healthy players if he goes there.

It's difficult to think of the Warriors without Iguodala. He looked like his game suffered somewhat from increased minutes in the finals because of injuries but he was still the consummate professional. Nothing lasts forever but it's hard to imagine him not being missed.

He'll be remembered as one of the franchise's most cherished players. His coming here from Denver (following the series where Karl told his team to injury Curry's ankle, and Iguodala publicly dissented) was a key in building the team. He provided elite defense and a mature perspective to a team that needed both. KD's loss was half-expected, but Andre's departure is being lamented all over the Bay Area. It was necessary to free up the space to get D'Angelo, but everyone out here loves and respects what he's brought to the team.

D'Angelo is getting some love, but with so much of the talk about him being what good trade bait he'll be to get two solid role players, he must be wondering about the reception he'll get.

Depending on what the Dubs gets out of Klay and how successful Kerr is in transforming the Warriors into a PNR type offense with their new players they may be pretty good, but the Lakers will be odds-on favorites to win the conference if Kawhi signs as expected. The leaks are all supporting the idea that he's heading there but who is doing the leaking? I hate to see a dysfunctional organization get rewarded (unless it's the Knicks but they have never been rewarded) but it appears likely that we are about to see that. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Danny Green, even at $30M/2, is a good signing for the LAL.

Westbrook is probably soon to ask for a trade. Nate Duncan and Danny Leroux mentioned ORL, DAL and MIN (for Wiggins) as possible destinations.

They are only paying him $3.5M. I think that carries high reward/risk. The 2017-18 New Orleans Pelicans have a partial reunion with AD, Boogie and Rondo.

The point guards are currently Rondo and Quinn Cook with Alex Caruso probably coming back as well.

This most exciting free agency period is just about over with the only thing left being a Westbrook trade unless OKC decides to build around Russ/G-A/Gallo/Adams/Grant by trading some of their new draft pick assets for an additional good player.

I'm hearing locally that, although everything seemed honky-dory on the outside, Boogie's moodiness became a locker room factor that the team didn't want to carry into next season.

Damien Jones didn't impress in Sacramento, isn't playing in Vegas. Jimmer Fridette left the team because he wasn't getting more than 16 minutes PT and he was a star in China. Jacob Evans is just OK, fairly low ceiling I think. The only one who has impressed me -- again -- is Alen Smailagić, the 6'10" 18-year old from Serbia, huge ceiling.

He didn't seem like a good fit for the Warriors. He and Jerebko once had a miscommunication resulting in a turnover that Draymond or Iguodala would've handled much more positively for subsequent plays.

I also think his body type will be more hampered by the Achilles problem than Durant.

That's interesting. I have been wondering why the Dubs had no interest in giving him another shot.

Vogel has a huge coaching challenge. Most of the Lakers have never played together, LeBron, Rondo, and Boogie have all been disrespectful of coaches in the past, and the team defense will be bad. Rondo hasn't played good defense since his Boston days and is probably the worst starting PG in the league, now. He and Cook were both bottom 10 (out of 100) in ESPN's real plus-minus last year.
