That huge empty dome on the north side of the downtown area is a really sad sight. With seemingly all of downtown St. Louis being a construction zone right now, I wonder if they're simply going to tear it down. That and the landmark Millennium Hotel.

I'll have Indy +6/+230 in Denver please.
Re: NFL 2016
Forbes just valued the Bills franchise at $1.5B, the lowest in the league. The NFL's demise will not happen in any of our lifetimes.

What if it had been a Browns fan?

Or the Bears, or Dolphins, or 49ers, or Rams...
As horrible as the Browns are, I don't think they're the worst team in the league.

Re: NFL 2016
Browns will doubtlessly use their third QB in three games. Goodellspeak's striped monkeys were a joke yesterday. On one play McCown bobbled the snap and was too late to hand off to the RB so he just went down at that point. Two Shitbirds jumped on him, one of which was close to a spear. No flag; I thought the league was about protecting QBs. Maybe I should do something else with my time.

Aside from the talent level of the players, everything about the NFL is very bad right now.Captain Hate wrote:Browns will doubtlessly use their third QB in three games. In the Chiefs game yesterday, Marcus Peters knocked away a pass, and turned to the stands behind the endzone and gave them a finger wag.
Taunting. 15 yd penalty, automatic first down. True story.
Later, one of the Chiefs WRs caught a pass while stumbling forward. Grabbed it with two hands, pulled it into his body while taking three steps. Defender then knocks the ball out, recovers the fumble.
Incomplete pass...
It has reached a level of absurdity that makes you want to tune in just to see how they can top themselves.

I'm way more into college so far, which is partly because they brilliantly front-loaded a bunch of great games into the first week and then again this past week. I always prefer pro to college, hoops and football both, so that maybe gives some insight to the state of the NFL from my perspective.
Re: NFL 2016
The NFC East is 3-1 in non-divisional games.
Teddy Bridgewater's injury led to Carson Wentz starting for the Eagles. Wentz is the top ranked passer by PFF.
Doug Pederson has yet to taste defeat as a HC in four preseason and two regular season games. That will probably end in Pittsburgh next Sunday.
Scott, you know Pederson better than any of us. Do you think he will have a long career as a HC?

I thought Bradford looked pretty good against the Pack, certainly better than Rodgers looked against the Vikes.
Goodellspeak must thank God every day for the existence of Jay Cutler.

Re: NFL 2016
Gordo, yeah I've seen Pederson ever since he came in with eyes as wide as pie plates to sub for the injured Scott Mitchell in the game where Coach Shula either tied or broke the record Halas had set for career wins.
He always struck me as quite a student of the game, just didn't have the physical skills needed. Very Kubiak-like. I think he could very well be a good HC. He seemed to do well with very little talent in KC. So it's not surprising to see him putting Wentz in a position to succeed.

Re: NFL 2016
I still stand by opinion that right now Aaron Rodgers is the most overrated QB in the league, and the Packers are NOT Super Bowl contenders. Even a little bit. They accidentally fell ass backwards into the post season last year, and lucked out when the Redskins decided to take the night off.Captain Hate wrote:I thought Bradford looked pretty good against the Pack, certainly better than Rodgers looked against the Vikes.

So far, they've done nothing that would indicate anything has changed. Their defense is still just OK, and Lacy is just shy of worthless.

From "Top 10 Rookies so far" - PFF
8. Laremy Tunsil, LG, Dolphins
The Miami offensive line has been lightyears better than its 2015 form in pass protection, and Laremy Tunsil is one of the big reasons why. He’s been beaten for three total pressures and no sacks in 87 pass-blocking snaps over two games—quite the upgrade over the lowest-graded pass blocking guards in the league last season.

#4 was a near-unanimous fan and analyst approved pick in round two and so far he looks pretty awesome.

Re: NFL 2016
On Sunday the Browns will set a GFL record by starting a different QB in five consecutive games:
1. Johnny Meathead
2. Slinging Austin Davis
3. RG3
4. Josh McCown
5. Slinging Cody Kessler

Good thing they've drafted 147 of them in the first round over the last 18 years.

Maybe you didn't care but I thought it was absurd that teams that had need at OT let the stud tackle of the draft slip to the Dolphins because of a bong video. The Giants were one of those teams.
