In other news, from Rotoworld a source told Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle that the A's have indeed made a "big offer" to free agent Adrian Beltre.
Jayson Stark of ESPN.com heard from two MLB club officials Thursday that Beltre is close to a deal with the A's, so it looks like it's all coming together. The 31-year-old Beltre posted a .321/.365/.553 batting line, 28 home runs and 102 RBI this past season for the Red Sox.

And it looks like Berkman may be going to Colorado, thank god he's not coming here.

Word is the Sox still have play on Paulie, which would mean Dunn at DH.

They'd probably have to move Buehrle to make that work, though.

Based on your awful (as far as I remember) results from the DH slot last year, you could be looking at a +6 or 7 wins just by putting Dunn in there, and not having to subtract his defense. But I thought he was really adamant about not wanting to DH.

The White Sox signed slugger Adam Dunn, a much-needed left-handed hitter, to a four-year, $56 million contract and will introduce him at a news conference Friday.


But the Sox also want to re-sign Paul Konerko, with general manager Kenny Williams saying "the next ting we'd like to do is put Paul Konerko back in a White Sox uniform."

Adrian Gonzalez to Boston has been agreed on, Boston now has a window to negotiate an extension with him and give him a physical. this will presumably gut the top of Boston's farm, but they're going to have a bunch of top picks again (from Martinez and now Beltre), and Gonzalez is a stud.

the AL East craziness continues, maybe this will push NY to sign both Crawford and Lee and have a $250M payroll (!!!).
