‎001: Joe Panzner/Greg Stuart
002: Anne Guthrie/Richard Kamerman
‎003: Graham Stephenson/Aaron Zarzutzki
004: J.P. Jenkins/David Barnes

this has all come together extremely quickly, but hopefully releases will start first half of 2012 sometime. edition size and packaging still to be determined, I'm really excited about this.

Scuse the cretiny, but what does AEU stand for? American Ethica Union? Approche Environnementale de l'Urbanisme? Australian Education Union? Alactro Ecoustic Umprovisation? Do tell!

A=American, EU is more nebulous/flexible, but one reading can be post-EAI (alphabetically).

the real question is how to pronounce it, I am currently saying Erst Ay Ee You, but Quam likes Erst-owwwww.

If A is America, EU must be European Union :) So what format will these discs be? Real CDs, CDRs, cassettes, lps, 8 track cartridge, wax cylinder, lossless DLs or what? And how do they relate to the "main" Erst catalogue? I ask that because, as with Simon Reynell's at-b CDR releases and the now defunct notorious Leo Lab "subsidiary", many people's perception tends to be that, if it ain't a "real" disc in the "real" catalogue, it's somehow not as good. Manifest nonsense of course - a lot of my favourite Leo releases came out on Lab, and some of AT's best work - the Seymour trio, the Anett Nemeth - is in the CDR format. So, what's the story, Rory?

the story is that when there's more to know, I'm sure you'll be one of the first who does, and of course I will post it here as I always do.

My guess is that these are all 'conceptual' releases inspired by Mattin et al. Their only existence will be here on IHM and we'll just debate their imaginary merits / drawbacks / theoretical implications endlessly until Mark tells us to shape up our discourse. You should have called it ErstTheory, Jon. ;)

I can only squeeze two more Ersts in, with a bit of effort, on my Erstwhile shelve. Oh well, time to start a second shelve then...
and it should be pronounced as the sounds you make when you hear this sort of music. Ah?! Eh?? Uh!! :-)

I always think whoever appreciates "it" the most should have it. After reading Matt's blog, I'm glad he got the job!
