hello

after ten years cut will be closing at the end of 2008. thereafter cd's will only
be available through cut distributors or directly from the artists.

the website will remain on-line into 2009.

i just wanted to say thanks so much to everyone for all their support over the years.
it was always a great pleasure running the label and an honor to work with so many inspiring artists.

with best regards

Tough year for labels...ouch.

Great work, though, Jason. I hope you have a little more free time and use it well!

WHAT??!!

Hey I just heard about the end of Crouton records, now cut... What is it: a sad coincidence or the beginning of an epidemic? This isn't good in any case...

My respect goes to both Jason Kahn and Jon Mueller for having kept those 2 great labels in shape for a decade.

Very sad to learn that Cut is closing.

Thank you SO much for all the wonderful music! (... this from a person who owns most of Cut's output.)

Cut, Crouton, who's next ?
Could you imagine a world without labels ?
But both were run by musicians that also tour, so i guess it's also a problem of time (without speaking of family & everyday lifes).

Damn, one of my very favorites in the idiom. Thanks for the music, Jason. Mattresslessness, Music for Cymbal, Timelines, Change Ringing, Yamaguchi, tremendous stuff.
