it's web only project, and you can read all the info there. they archive their shows, and you can find programs either by browsing the schedule or using the search function. i haven't looked into it so much, to be honest, but seems to be pretty interesting.

anyway, i am supposed to record my first show for it on Wednesday, which will focus, naturally, on brazilian music of all kinds, from bossa and samba to thrash and improv (well, that's my plan anyway). if all goes well, i'm gonna post my playlists here (because I don't speak Portuguese and don't know how the names are pronounced, so lots of mistakes are gonna be made). will post when i know when it's on air.

56 tribes from south Ethiopia. The festival took place on Dec 13 - 15 in Arba Minch, South Ethiopia.
Arba Minch Festival of Music and Dance.
It would have taken months of traveling to have hear half of these amazing musicians.
The Festival of 1000 Stars is organized by the Global Music Exchange and Gughe Music and Arts Association, and is funded by the Christensen Fund. The festival aims to promote the rich cultural diversity of peoples of Southern Ethiopia, and encourage respect and appreciation for their fascinating and varied heritage. It has been growing year on year since 2003. Last year 45,000 came to enjoy the richness of talent and encourage the performers to greater heights. The 2008 festival took place on 13th-15th December in the Rift valley, Arba Minch, Ethiopia: one day's drive from Addis.
