He's got a little toy voice amplifier with a little speaker in it (the circular thing in his hand).
When the speaker moves it creates a fluctuating electromagnetic field.
Guitar pickups are induction coils and work by turning fluctuating electromagnetic fields into fluctuating currents which are amplified by whatever amplifier the guitar is plugged into. Normally it's the strings of the guitar which create fluctuations in the fields, in this case it's the speaker.
You can do this kinda thing with any speaker, or any vibrating ferrous metal.

I was on some thread at some other site where someone identified the type of mixer. Can't remember it. My guess is that he simply has a lot of different effects in the signal chain.
