televisions w/ a setup

ive wanted to experiment with video for a while - so tonight i lined out my mixer into the video in of a scart adapter, and plugged that into a portable cathode ray TV. as i begun to override the signal, bars began to flash and scroll on the screen - not much colour, but lots of flashes and vertical lines at varying frequencies.



i made a feedback loop with the mixer alongside that, to try more results, and eventually just ended up plugging in an SK-1 and my four track as well. its interesting to see how the picture changes with different sources

has anybody (aside nam june paik) got any more ideas for working with tv sets? things to try, or things that are tried and tested. i am a bit afraid that im going to blow something up though

Hong Chulki and Choi Joonyong did something very similar for a while, back in 2003 or so

but fortunately I've found you can get those moving line effects to show up off a projector as long as you run the audio signals through a video mixer first.
