band advice/opinions

I've been playing out with a band (5 of us) for the last six months. I'm not making much (read: drinks at the bar), but enjoy the few gigs a month and one or two practices a week. I'm also pretty much the fifth wheel: the last guy to join, not close friends with any of them, but get along fine, etc.

The other guys in the band are getting an official practice space and it will cost me $70 a month. This will be out of pocket money and I'm having a hard time justifying whether this will be worth it or not. The band is more of a time waster/free time thing than a professional gig. I'm also on a self imposed budget, so even though it doesn't sound like too much, I'll have to cut corners.

So...what would you do? just pay for the space to continue with the band? ?
