Importing audio into ProTools

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to import mp3 and/or .aiff files into protools? I have the free version (for OS 9) and can't seem to figure out how to do this. There must be a way. Help!

i don't have the os 9 / free version handy, but in le you just control or option-click in the files area at the right of the edit screen... a contextual menu will drop down where you can add files. stop. roll over. face true north. then sing... -k
