I Hate Hosting

For those of you who have made your music available online, how did you go about getting it hosted? I'm curious as to whether there are good free services available, what their limitations are, etc. I had music up on mp3.com for a long time, but that site's over with and I think now I'd prefer to design my own page separate from others anyway, not part of any kind of 'virtual community.'

After MP3.com passed on, I turned to IUMA, but it's criminally slow. So I just spent the cash on a domain and hosting service (with gandi.net and phpwebhosting.com, respectively). No complaints with either.

he runs a "cooperative webhosting" service primarily for independent musicians and artists; for a suggested donation of $15-$25 per year you can get your own domain with unlimited space and virtually unlimited bandwidth, and webmail and PHP are also available.

if you ask really nice I'm sure he'd show you how to upload your MP3s (it takes less than 10 minutes once you've got the webspace)

i don't know if it would help, but you could tell him ryan supak referred you...he's a super guy.
