Posting here vs. the Promotions board

Lately I've noticed there's quite a few threads each day that belong in the promotions board... I just wanted to make it clearer what might belong here or there.

If you have a piece or a link, stick it in the sticky Today's Improv / Composition thread. Please don't start a separate thread for each project. No links to selling stuff in there, but feel free to throw any pieces that you want feedback on in there, label advice, etc. If ya want a thread to promote a release, IHP is your place.

where does it belong if it's something finished that you might want to release and want to hear a second opinion about (as in my case)?
I wasn't really promoting anything as there was nothing to promote.

it seems to me that the right place for stuff you want people to think about is the sticky thread at the top of the forum. i would prefer this forum remain a discussion space for gear and technical advice. getting feedback is good, too, but i don't see the need for a separate thread for each person to chat about their individual stuff.
