Enjoy!
dig this. not particularly feed-backy or guitary :)

a nice range of palette and densities. kinda noisey recording tho :P
:) thanks for the input and nice words. I know tape hiss is prevalent but I sort of embrace it, maybe more than I should...

Delicious and crunchy. Much more interesting than the amateurish NIMB noise fest I just posted... hehehe. Well done.

An hourlong improvisation broken into 5 tracks. It's just a guitar, two delay pedals, and a pitch shifter pedal, no overdubs or anything.

I'm on number 2 and I'm having a fun afternoon.
I also listened to your previous one, had some really fun parts I wish was louder over the hiss. Like near the beginning, the little touch-noises.

Actually, the new ones I'm listening to now could be a little louder/more aggressive for me as well.
And here's some nice rumbling sounds I like. I better stop now before I start giving live updates on the entire thing.

No way for me to hear these objectively, but I thought this (self-released) project might be of interest to this listening community:

or

Recorded April - August 2010.

All tracks sourced from New Age recordings.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Last march I posted one of my early experiments with a granular Max/MSP improvisation environment I had started to build. Since then, I have evolved the patch quite a lot further and added for example filters, a delay, a comb filter, the ability to record my knob movements on the fly, the ability to change the sound files and the grain envelopes on the fly and so on. Below is a semi-improvisation I did with it yesterday (semi because after doing the free improvisation, I did some minor editing and simple mixing to it).
a printing factory overrun by vegetation

Of course, this being a 12-minute improvisation, I'm only using a fraction of the possibilities of the thing - otherwise it would get into cartoony demo territory. I'm again operating mostly with clicky percussive sounds and didn't change either of the 2 soundfiles on the fly (they are, in fact, the same 2 soundfiles I used in the early experiment I posted). However, I think there's more space in the sound image now...

live set from this monday, @ uganda, in jerusalem. was really loud, so probably better played that way...

Put together a tape collage/musique concrete (sort of) piece yesterday. It was my first experiment in actually composing something ahead of time on paper and then trying to realize the score... just a test to get myself going but I think the result is OK. It's all done on my 4-track so the edits are pretty inexact, but it seems to get the job done for now. Thoughts?

Also recorded two improv experiments with a new delay pedal I just bought...

I hooked up a function generator to computer speakers and put them next to my guitar strings, while my guitar was running direct into a mixer and being recorded. I also ran a monitor out to my amp, so I could use the sympathetic vibrations created by the sine tones to affect/interfere with the feedback of the guitar through the amp... it worked OK I think, I think I can set it up a little better next time and get more controllable results.
