idno what options you have with soundcloud, but i'd be much more likely to comment if ppl could include a DL link as flash doesn't work properly on my work computer.

heh, i actually used soundcloud for the first time, because i thought people would rather prefer an "external" player, than downloading stuff on their computers...

3 new pieces can be found here:

http://gyrebc.bandcamp.com/album/4-25-10

The 1st two tracks are a kind of dub-inflected freejazz industrial funk...

The 3rd track begins in Axel Dorner territory, more or less, but goes elsewhere...

An improv from a few months ago: I taped a contact mic to a space heater and ran it through a few guitar pedals.

So I figured, why not? Only recently refined my set-up after a few years of not doing very much. Feeling reenergised!

Mixer and some other things.

I actually got your blog from a person not related to IHM at all, saying how I'd really like it. And I do, and the picture+improv theme really works for me.

And thanks a lot, Dohol. I don't normally do improvisations like that, actually they make me feel really selfconscious.
I'm trying to go through all the other daily improvs here, but left my headphones in Brighton. Feels bad to do a post without commenting on other peoples work at least a little.

^ Thanks! Very much enjoyed the mandolin material as well - great timing and weight and space. ;)

Really liked mp3 from d.at too - nice sounds, assuming no-input mixer etc.?

Best.

Recorded this at about 4am Monday morning in an insomniac haze. It's prepared guitar, with a shortwave radio, flourescent light, and a little delay pedal. If I remember correctly I prepared the guitar with pencils, toothpicks, and alligator clips and used an ebow.

Kind of. Started as no-input with some pedals and things, then inserted a couple of home made devices - both effects and sound generators.

Glad you liked it!

Mucking about with a no input feedback loop and three guitar pedals...
