that would be about 95% of my puny CD collection. It was decimated before leaving for Japan and, because habit of collecting for collecting's sake was pretty much killed off while there, has never recovered.

You were gleefully filling my arms with CDs on that last US tour, when you hit Mpls. I came away with a lot of candy (Meelkop, Scenic Railroads, Talbot, et al).

Yes. Very much so. I bought it with a gift card and didn't expect it to last more than a few weeks, but despite it's cheap plastic exterior, it is actually quite a little beast. The sliders can pop off kind of easily, but as long as you don't lose them, they pop back on just as easy. Definitely worth the investment, especially if you can find a deal.

Grisha, what kind of recorded material do you work with on those cassettes? I've been experimenting with putting together loops on computer and putting them on cassette but I'm not really happy with the results. Are there any examples of your music around? Curious.

right now there are no examples of my music around with this set up. i use field recording - usually i just stick the recorder somewhere and remove it when the side is over. sometimes i use cassettes with music and spoken word. i also have about ten cassettes with loops of field recordings from computer, that i recorded and cut long ago - but the looped pieces are from 15 to 40 or more seconds long, and i made sure they don't sound like loops (unless you're following really hard). i actually should do it more, it's much more convenient that way.

In this picture, the setup wasn't fully put together yet, but I finally got some rack screws to mount my rack/table-top units and hook several things up to the patch bay:



It's really nice having a patch bay to make things easier... the only downside is the rack stand takes up over half of my pedal board/table.
