hey, thanks for the comments (thanks to Ervig, earlier too)mono tony wrote: pleasant sounds in track 1... the percussion sounds are nicely recorded, is that real reverb on them? while i enjoy the various layers, it does feel like the percussion is independent of the other elements (birds, street sounds, etc.), as if the percussion activity could be an altogether separate track. i'm not hearing any dialogue w/it, other than some possible responses to the intermittent church bell, and the needly guitar percussion towards the end. the early guitar activity does 'gel' nicely w/the first half, that breathes.
the water trickle towards the end is interesting, but again i'm longing for some sort of coalesence where the elements feel disparate. the general vibe is nice, and the sounds are well-recorded. one problem could be my tiny computer speakers. of course, my impression is based only on the first track, removed from the context of the (whole) series.
yes I take your point on the percussive sounds on track 1. they were actually knives rubbed on some resonant aluminum bars. and yes I had some reverb on.
FWIW most recordings were captured with a basic Edirol stereo recorder (R-09HR), which can be quite good especially indoors.
I'll keep working on them.
