Sad to learn that - but he had a good innings. I think I'll watch Ma Nuit Chez Maud or La Collectioneuse tonight by way of tribute.

I think his 'Perceval le Gallois' from 1978, based on Chretien De Troyes version taken from the arthurian legends is one of the best movies ever made, and definitely one of most interesting visions of medieval times in cinema history.
