Interesting how a certain jcnigel's only favorite video on youtube (after having only watched a total of 10 videos on youtube) is that video. We got caught short over the long weekend and had no netflix flicks to watch so I bought a 4-disaster-movie "collectors'" box for five bucks. Some really bad movies can be a lot of fun, so what the hell. What the hell is "Crash Landing,* my contender for the worst movie ever made. No redeeming value at all. Two of the others (earthquake and fire) were at least absurdly amusing. Not so *Crash Landing.* We have avalanche still to go.

Last night, we watched *Donnie Brasco* again for the nth time.

To me the epitome of a bad movie is boring one. And Zardoz (for all of it's faults) isn't boring.. I cannot feel guilt for enjoying it. It is what it is...

eh, i found both the plot and the pace to be pretty damn boring actually (and i like Zardoz quite a bit).

I haven't worked my way through this thread yet, so I'm not a citizen yet, only a visitor. But I just recently read this essay by critic Adrian Martin (who might be familiar to some as co-editor, with Jonathan Rosenbaum, of the interesting MOVIE MUTATIONS anthology, as well as being an editor of the webzine Rouge, which I've found to be of interest), which is more or less about bad movies' badness. He's an academic lately, but a critic for a long time and first of all, so I don't think anyone will be put off by needless word salad. Some good insights!

maybe a long list with only a few short descriptions isn't the best way of conveying that information, but Adam's posted that list on another board in the past and I have actually looked up a few of the films and been interested in seeing them

"There's a part where he eats a live cockroach, which although a major selling point for me going into the movie, is now kinda bottom rung as far as awesome things that happen in this movie go. If you want to truly understand how amazing this movie is, you need to imagine a ladder going up to heaven where the first step is Nicholas Cage eating a cockroach.
