this was pretty great. slow-moving atmospheric type thing, the climax
is unreal (and originally censored). the denouement is amazingly tragic.

surreal lo-fi flick. a fun watch, not to be taken seriously. that said there's some truly good scenes.

I'd say it was a totally incompetent attempt to rip off Shinya Tsukamoto's 'Tetsuo' films, myself. One of the most disappointing gaps between quality of title and film ever. It did, however provide me with one of the funniest experiences I've ever had in a cinema. Before the screening starts (midnight festival screening deal), one of the festival organisers gets up to introduce it, visibly shaken. He makes a small announcement about 'Please use the sharps bins provided in the toilets, don't leave your used syringes on the ground. Thanks' Said nothing about the film, then shuffled off.

it exceeded my low expectations. i still needed two sittings to finish it, the terrible scenes sap your energy. but it was the most 'entertaining' thing i watched last week, i have to give it some credit for being able to evoke some genuine laughs and genuine interest here and there.

Pretty enjoyable, though I had to laugh a little at the soldiers with their "jetpacks"...

Oh and: Julie Christie............. sigh

I am into the 2nd season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, a palliative for my job woes.

Yeah, I liked them all. The only one that was less than excellent was Woodchuck, which got a little boring after a while. Pickpocket is my second Bresson movie, not as great as Balthazar imo, but still excellent.
