This is sad and kind of shocking to me because he taught at my school and I had always wanted to take a grad class with him.
RIP Professor Tate.

I'm not sure, that's a good question. My roommate watches the news all the time, local and national, and the only thing I hear about when I'm not wearing headphones, is about the Chattanooga shooting.

Poets live in obscurity and die in obscurity, and hope that 20 years after their death maybe one of their poems is anthologized. Tate was not exactly a major poet, but maybe someday The Lost Pilot will make it into Norton's.

L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E poetry needs more love - not just Rae Armantrout. I'm still waiting for more of it to be digitized and pushed in the commons (which is a thing I wish was more common). I'm not from the USA, so I don't have access to fancy university libraries with collections of such poetry.
