Rowe/ Pisaro --13 Knocked me out! I hit repeat on the first disc as soon as it ended. With the exception of the original The Room, I don't think I've liked an Erst as well as this one after two listens. The teasing out of who is leading which parts is flirting with me around the edges, and will play more of a role for me in future listens. There's a kind of 'full palette of eai colors' to the set and an almost dramatic vector (as opposed to a not uncommon stasis to this kind of music) that I respond to. I have no idea what the general critical response to this one was/ is, Jon; but, fwiw, late in the game as it is, I think this is one of the best of the genre. Congratulations!

Back home after four days of mandatory fire evacuation, the third major fire in Sonoma County in three years, its biggest ever (76,000 acres and growing), so far zero loss of life and two injuries to firefighters, none to residents. Slept at my sister's house in east Santa Rosa, coulda been worse. PG&E is going down for the count on this one, which started only a few miles from here. Enough local chatter that I don't have to have to vent about it here. Very glad to see that Brian Olewnik was among the old-timers who checked in, it had been a while!
