Re: bandcamp threads
Don't know of much on bandcamp, but my friend Erin Sexton from Montreal recently released a double disc on the site, some good solo pieces and some duets (incl. one w/ Martin Tetreault):

I have two band camp sites up now if anyone is interested, all free to stream and download.
My trio MTM: http://mtmmtm.bandcamp.com/ Featuring original compositions, music by Christian Wolff, Cornelius Cardew, and a piece inspired by Morton Feldman's 2nd String Quartet.
My personal music site: http://mattsmiley.bandcamp.com/ Featuring a performance of "Edges" with Christian Wolff, a silent film performance with Jean-Marc Montera, Terry Riley's "In C" on multi-tracked electric basses, Cornelius Cardew's "Treatise," and a tribute show to Ornette Coleman with a double quartet.

a lot of albums, some of them only released (I believe) via bandcamp.
and if it's ok to post your own stuff maybe someone will be interested in those:

Re: bandcamp threads
I'd like to see more of these (and thanks for starting the thread with mine, Yii).
I put up a collection of bandcamp and soundcloud pages a little while ago. These were mostly gathered from Facebook and Twitter, and I'm sure that many more have appeared since then. But, FWIW:

Re: bandcamp threads
I'm new here, so I figured the best thing to do as an introduction is to share free downloads of some of my first releases.
My name is Joao and I run Fabrica Records out of my apt. in the Gowanyus neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, I also record/perform as Luciernaga (guitar/synth -ambient/noise). Fabrica started out doing small hand-made and home-dubbed cassette releases, we still continue and will contine to release cassettes, but we've also now begun to release vinyl.
anyways.... here are the links to free downloads of 3 early Fabrica releases:
FAB001 LUCIERNAGA Life Passes Away Like Idle Chatter C-44
The first ever Fabrica release, which was home-dubbed and came with handpainted home-made j-cards. A random edition of 100, 4 different color j-cards. Luciernaga is the solo project of Fabrica founder Joao Da Silva, Life Passes was a collection of two years of guitar-based ambient/noise, tape loops and field recordings of everything from the train arriving at the Union St R Stop in Gowanus, Brooklyn, a snow storm, a documentary about U.S. intervention in Latin America, and more.
Download here - http://luciernaga.bandcamp.com/album/li ... atter-c-44
FAB003 FACTIONS Cold Light Emissions C-44
Dark and murky, minimalist synth-based drones that sound like swelling currents and rising tides.
"The third release from Brooklyn’s Fabrica label (they’re approaching a dozen now) is a nice ambient tape by Factions, the alias of some local the label claims they don’t actually know. This one is heavily indebted to Pulse Emitter’s Meditative Music series or similar releases. Which is to say, it’s slowly paced synth work, with mysterious, minimal, and even cold soundscapes. Side A follows the classic loud-soft-loud trajectory, with strikingly immersive quiet middle section that seems to descend into oceanic depths. Side B is more constant, with light filtering and a glacial feel. Nothing particularly groundbreaking here—sometimes lacks the dynamism and expressivity of Pulse Emitter’s quietest passages, but well done ambient music regardless." - Foxy Digitalis
Download here - http://luciernaga.bandcamp.com/album/co ... -emissions
FAB004 – STRNGLV Psychotropia C-30
The title says it all: pyschotropical-ambient noise with tribal percussion, flashes of white noise and soft rings and tones that co-mingle to create an amazing cinematic and exotic sound-scape.
"As the name suggests, STRNGLV’s Psychotropia is a highly trippy concoction of psychedelic electronic sounds set in a tropical jungle. The tape, released on a young Brooklyn label Fabrica Records, begins with a series of pulsing, sunlit drones descending from the canopy. The cassette insert lists an impressive list of both synthesizers and computer software. And for a good reason – the tape is amazingly multilayered and rich, almost pregnant with sound, existing more or less in the same dreamy equatorial headspace as High Wolf or Dolphins Into the Future. " - Weedtemple

"Art is only a means to life, to the life more abundant. It is not in itself the life more abundant. It merely points the way, something which is overlooked not only by the public, but very often by the artist himself. In becoming an end it defeats itself."
- Henry Miller

Joao

The vinyl sounds so much better than the cassette, and maybe the best recorded of all his albums, or cleanest at least.rainey wrote:That's pretty killer. Angst Hase Pfeffer Nase completely overlooked last year, as usual.
Re: bandcamp threads
Travis, which of these is that computer music one you were just promoting? (I had mentally bookmarked it to listen to, am hoping to get to it now!)
