"The Holy See was the white-noise side-project of two members of Tarentel (Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and Jim Redd) that released the radical noisescapes of Snowing Ash (Root Strata, 2005) and Fucking Physics (Digitalis, 2007).'" -Scaruffi

"Welcome to the abrasive indulgences of The Holy See. This duo of Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and Jim Redd (both of the inimitable Tarentel) spews molten lava from their fingertips into a fireball of droning extravagance. "Fucking Physics" (CD-R, 100 copies) is heavy on the electronics (hell, it's heavy on everything) and denser than a black hole. It's an absolutely exquisite mess that is shot towards the heavens before being drowned in the darkest depths of the silver sea. This is corrosivity at its radiant best." - Foxglove

a friend compared them to some of the denser yellow swans material, but i can't remember much about what the holy see sound like, so i can't confirm the comparison.

i think i have fucking physics around somewhere, i could check.

oh probably the goslings/warmth cd out now on archive would fit the bill.

kinda wish you'd write something about what you're looking for sonically rather than just refer to a band.

Yeah, I should add that I'm giving those recs having only heard Blood Honey (their piece from the Digitalis Arroyo subscription series), so I don't know what their other two are like.

But the Archive catalog in general (I was thinking specifically of San Seng Shi when recommending Li Jianhong) seems pretty sympathetic to that sort of blasted guitar aesthetic. Maybe Utech too, if you want to go a little blacker.

hm. i guess a lot of the adjectives have already been used in this thread. but really drawn out, sustained guitar tones; oceans of guitar even. electronics/manipulation is also cool i guess. but something really enveloping in its sound. like, loud but gentle in approach too. if that makes sense. maybe like, the heavier cousin of ambient music

some of the stuff on "@ all ends" by yellow swans seems to fit the bill. less of the in your face harshness of "bring the neon war home"
