Re: Now playing

Trees, On the Shore (1970)
Vintage folk rock along the lines of Fairport Convention but with a heavier sound. It makes a lot of Celia Humphris's vocals, usually multitracking them wherever possible into close harmonies. Some of the songs are unusually long and have krauty, psychy guitar bliss-outs.

Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.

this is like an autechre music heavy with cosmetic effects, lots of buzzing distortion, compression, TUSS-like vocals and slippery, harmonic-shifting synthesizer sounds. there are boards-y pitch waverinesses. lots of detail. the regular compression and mastering are sort of off-putting (there's not a large dynamic range), and the frequent buzzing textures seem over-used. however, it sounds great in a weeded state.

If you like that you need some Junior Kimbrough in your life. Low rolling, greasy juke joint blues and early evening pomade sunsets.
