Best "rock" or "pop" or however you want to classify it I've heard in ages. Like a mix between The Goslings and Royal Trux "Twin Infinitives", with some of the best moments of the Xpressway label thrown in.

Reports on the Ferial Confine & Oosterlynck sets greatly appreciated, thanks.
Had a bit of blowout at a record fair round here just recently.
Highlights:
Ghana soundz Soundways comp
Sun Ra Saturn press, hand drawn cover, $9
Bunch of nice Indian classical records, Sharan Rani being the highlight of those.
Orchestra Reigonal de Kayes

Amadu Bansang Jobateh - Master of the Kora
Tony Conrad - Fantastic Glissando
Sumara Lubelski - In the Valley
Dean Roberts - and the black moths play the grand cinema
plus more..

Was happy to finally see a CD release of Gaburo's vocal/text masterpiece "Maledetto". Even more exciting for me was to see that his percussion/tape solo "Antiphony VIII (Revolution!)" was finally released. My first thought was, "who the hell actually performed this piece again after it was written?" because it's such a huge undertaking and the performance materials aren't readily available. My question was answered when I saw that the recording is from the late 80s and taken from a live performance. This is kind of irritating as it means the tape part is really distant sounding but it's a lot better than nothing considering that, until now, I'd only seen the score and never heard an actual performance.

Yeah, that is a good one! I just got the new Minton solo today. Both Amoebas (SF & Berkeley) ordered well recently.

You were lucky finding a copy of that - been OOP forever. Great disc though, definitely should be reissued, like so many of the Absurds.
