I just ordered the ICP-Box for ~300€! (which is quite cheap).

Guess I'm lucky that I caught it a bit after it was released and the first few used copies pop up for sale while the box might be still available officially. In a few years I likely would have to pay a collector item's price.

Luciano CILIO Dell'Universo Assente
I've got a lot of time for this one. Odd record, hard to place it. It's quite "light" in some aspects - arpeggiating, tonal classical guitar and slow drift harmonies, not entirely unlike some of the pop minimalist chamber stuff that became popular in the late 80s/90s, but overall much odder than that suggests; parts moving independently, often souring into microtonality, or diverting into freer percussive things.
And, besides, just a very satisfying listen.

Not entirely unlike After the Rain now I come to think of it.

I'm also a fan of the Luciano Cilio album. Very moving at times, and yes, kind of all over the place despite being quite minimalist also.

LOads of bundles of fabric prepared for trying to make shirts though I think I need a more practical pattern for their design. First one is a pirate shirt but it has sleeves which each take up about a metre of fabric.

A missouri riverboatman shirt pattern that has to come from the States. Seems difficult to find patterns for male clothing that aren't either very very straight or costume based & even those aren't that easy. The ones that look interesting to me that I can find on e-bay etc seem to be historical recreation things, so I guess they are costume too. & I guess it's up to me how I finish them which will be more completely if I intend to wear the thing than the rough finishing a costume would tend to have since it isn't going to be worn that frequently.
Western clothing is pretty appealing, been watching some of the recent Western tv series and salivating over what people are wearing. Thinking of doing things in more psychedelic material like the African fabrics and vibrant or multicoloured twill, cord & moleskin.
Been taking a couple of sewing courses recently to get me more familiar with the sewing machine.
Running through my mind that getting a job in the costume department of a theatre or something would be a great way of getting practise with the skill. Not sure what opportunity there is to do that though.

A book on making trousers by David Coffin Page.

& musically 2nd Bardo by Cult of Dom Keller. I have picked up a lot of the Cardinal Fuzz cd releases

Most of the stuff that really interest me I had already on LPs. The transfers in this box partly suck, one early Breuker even has pops. Sounds to me as if not much effort has been put into the transfer job, in several cases. If I take some time, my own transfers turn out better - in my ears. That means I'm not very happy about the purchase of that box.

After that I.C.P-box, I purchased dozens of old free improv/free jazz CDs - partly out of interest in the bonus material, partly for having sonic upgrades (I played some of these as LPs a lot and those sound accordingly bad meanwhile).
The ones I liked best + the ones I look forward to listen to the most:

Spontaneous Music Ensemble: Frameworks / Bio System / += / Trio & Triangle / New Surfacings
Derek Bailey: Lot '74 / More 74 / Then / Different Guitars / New Sights, Old Sounds + Solo Live
Parker/Lytton: Collective Calls / At The Unity Theatre / Two Octobers
Iskra 1903: Goldsmiths & Chapter two
Tony Oxley: 75 Years
Howard Riley Trio: Synopsis & Overground (+ 3 early albums from 67 to 70 which leave me unimpressed though)
John Stevens etc...: 4, 4, 4, 4 etc.
Globe Unity Orchestra: Hamburg 74
Brötzmann/van Hove/Bennink: FMP 0130
Alex Schlippenbach Piano Solo
Russell/Altena/Day: A Fairly Young Bean
Russell/Todd/Beresford/Coombes/Solomon: Teatime
Stevens/Parker: The Longest Night + Corner to Corner
Brotherhood of Breath: Live at Willisau
Mike Osborne Trio: Border Crossing
Sven-Ake Johansson: Early Works 1969-1973
and many more. Looks like my interest focusses on british old school improv these days.

There are also several titles I decided to purchase as mp3-download. A welcome alternative to some albums that are very expensive as physical copies (The Hans Dulfer Quartet from 68/69 at the Paradiso, with Han Bennink, comes to mind first).

haven't bought a lot of stuff recently, but this month I felt inspired…

Zero Centigrade - Birch (Obs)
I am pretty psyched up with this duo. Unknown distance is one of my top 10 post EFI discs of the last decade. What I heard of this new one sounded promising.

Gianluca Favaron - Equivalent XI (silentes)
Same as above, not much info available, but again some great reviews and some intriguing samples of electro-acoustic loops from this (his 2nd) album.

D'incise - Prairie (Obs)
This guy has released lot of music. This one got some great reviews on both Richard and Brian's sites. Bought "Aral" (Mystery Sea) a few months ago, and although not a great fan of that label I was quite impressed.

Tetuzi Akiyama/Anla Courtis - Naranja Songs (from Public Eyesore)
Tetuzi Akiyama/Tim Barnes/Masafumi Ezaki-Futuro (Quakebasket)
Been meaning to get Futuro since it was released (reissued?). Heard 'Naranja Songs' already and its top draw.

AMM - place sub (matchless)
The watchful Ear raved about this one. I haven't got any recent AMM discs, so maybe that should correct the situation.

Ernesto Rodrigues, Guilherme Rodrigues, Manuel Mota, José Oliveira ‎– Assemblage (Creative sources)
A classic from 2002. Not sure how I missed this when I was going thru the CS catalog a few years back. Not a great fan of the Rodrigues brothers when they get into that AMM/Prevost mode, but this one is very different, and pretty much up there with Dorsal and Ficta.

After a lengthy intro where they are both exploring the lower registers of their instruments, the first signs of lighter sounds emerge. The events that follow never hit high registers or high energy (or when they do, they are way back in the mix). Like random sound ripples, some nearer some further. They stop, silence enters, and then they start again.

It's a toned down sound. The usual AMM suspense, mystery and intensity, but more space and (maybe) an awareness of the Wandelweiser sound in the mix.
There are plenty of references from their earlier recordings (notably 'Discrete Moments' or the AMM 'Before driving to the chapel…' with Rowe). What I like about this one is that it comes across as less deliberate than usual.

thanks... eager to hear it. anybody aware of an american distributor for Matchless recordings, this AMM album in particular?

my recent purchases:

fennesz - Bécs -- feels a bit haphazard, but some pleasant zones and melodies going on. dig the "Sav" track. too many tonal wash, overall
marc baron - hidden tapes -- hitting the spot, it does remind me a bit of lambkin/lescalleet, but more immediate.
plaid - reachy prints -- pretty well-polished and brief, been playing it a lot.
angels of light - everything is good here... great fuckin album.
