Reissue this!

Stealing an idea from Paris Transatlantic: records that are out of print that you're just itching to see available and in public circulation again. The greater the musical injustice at them being obscure the better. To be clear, there's already a thread here for noting records that have been reissued--this is for what should be.
The PT feature involved a short song of praise to the record in question (since the music obviously tends not to be widely known), so anything offered in that direction would be a bonus.

Should have copyrighted that idea!
The Reissue This spot was my favourite bit about the site. So far we had two successes (ie things that actually were reissued)

I doubt the Howard piece made much difference to ESP's decision to reissue it, and they did a pretty shoddy job of it too, but..
Man, the list is long.. I'll start making notes and come back later.

Nope, I don't think it did. There's an impassioned plea for their release here:

Hemingway box was apparently in the talking stages a number of years ago....I'm not sure why that was canned?
Those are some of his tastiest records too....

Indeed. . .Gerry told me Werner approached him about it but that was a few years ago, ah well. One of the best bands of the 90s, for sure.

I just posted these on another thread, but what the hell..
Byard Lancaster- Us
Khan Jamal- Give The Vibes Some
Bakaida Carroll- Orange Fish Tears..- all three lp's were released on Palm Records and have not seen the light of day on disc(as far as I know)
I concur in wanting the Marion Brown 70's titles on disc; I would also like to see Braxton's Arista lp's, particularly Fall 74 and Five Pieces 1975.Gimme gimme gimme.. I want I want I want.....

Yes, and Hat definitely shouldn't be hiding away discs like
Quartet (Dortmund) 1976 either. They can manage to reissue so-so records like Oliver Lake's
Zaki! when they want to.

I'm not sure the issue is one of hiding anything. It's a matter of Werner's priorities what he wants to see back in print and in what order.
I'm sure Lacy's "Clangs" or Jimmy Lyons/Sunny Murray "Jump Up" are bound to see the light of day someday....

Someone should reissue the first GOD disc, the black one with "Genesis" and "Reserection" on it. It's by far my favorite, and had a big influence on a surprising number of US musicians.

Well, someone should do Akio Suzuki & Takehisa Kosugi "A New Kind Of Hearing".
Then everything by Christoph Heeman.

Yes, Jef Gilson is still as far as I know sitting on the Palm back catalogue. And waiting for someone to come along with a chequebook.. I have his address, if anyone out there manages to defraud a French bank and has no idea what to do with the money.
The Frank Lowe Palm disc is terrific too. And I've never got my hands on a copy of Jacques Thollot's
Watch Devil Go either. (That, as you say Walt, should be on the Holy Grail thread)
