ErstPop?

I've been listening to "Uneasy Flowers" recently and have to admit that the new disc is better than "J&D" (although again I'm not fully convinced).
Anyway I'm not sure if Autistic Daughters are playing the "erstpop". I think they're inheritors of the bands I used to listen to when I was young (I've almost forgotten how these bands sounded, but AD has much more in common with This Mortal Coil, Breathless, Magazine, Japan/early Sylvian, Dif Juz, etc. than with EAI).
New to this. Really just trying to see if it works right.
The Magic I.D. disc is just great! As also the Schnee erstlive. Cant wait to hear the studio disc. Autisic Daughters is fine by me as well. Kommando Raumschiff Zitrone get the most play on my ears right now. I'm a bit confused as to why the whole "Tokyo New Texture" (as Body Electric records put it) is left out of this EAI meets pop. I know its more rather EAI meets Bitches Brew, but I think projects like Gnu and Oshima Teruyuki"s own fit in to the debate. "Into the Black" has been tweeking my fancies lately. I'm sure darko has something to say about this as well? Anyway...how do I put someone else's comment that I'm replying to in that black box?....
welcome, dude!

I think the japanese crew gets less namechecks because of their poor distribution outside of japan. I try to stay on top of the stuff I might be interested in, I have a japanese wife who keeps an eye on things, and still I didn't know about this california dolls triple CD-R set until jez pointed it out here last week. I also haven't been as into the attempts to fuse abstract and pop areas coming out of japan so far as I have the best of the vienna/berlin ones, but I could certainly see something from there making its way onto erstpop at some point.

California Dolls are the duo of Ami Yoshida and Chihiro Wada. they did a record for Commune Disc in 2004 which I stock copies of:

and they recently released a triple CD-R which Ami is sending me copies of, but I haven't received yet.

OK, so giving this Magic ID option a first listen now. Can I ask a couple of process questions (sorry if they've already been covered)...
I guess the lyrics are prewritten, and the music improvised, possibly around skeletal plans, and then the best take for each song used?
I wouldn't pick this as being improvised.

what do you mean? it's all in the moment, baby! to be fair, it did take christof a while to memorize all 2316 lines of 'martin fierro' beforehand, and not just by rote, but to feel it deeply enough to be able to freestyle his three minute version.
I'll give a serious answer on the other thread if you want, I've waited long enough to talk about this and I just wrote up a good one. but does it really help you to know this so quickly? especially since you actually have the record now, wouldn't you prefer to just listen some on your own before hearing how it was assembled? there's a lot of info there, I'm pretty sure you could answer your own question to a large extent relatively quickly.
