I'm still kicking myself for missing nmperign in November and the December triple bill of Emeralds/Bird Show/Sun Circle. This was back in 2008. GAH.

That said, I am very much looking forward to seeing Mr. Lescalleet and then Mr. Rowe in March. I need to talk to Kurt Schmidt (the dude who started booking shows in Oberlin) and see who else on the way - I once suggested to him to try to bring Idea Fire Company down here. When I was at the James Ferraro house show in December, I heard them mentioned in conversation, but I believe things were still up in the air. Hmm...

Keith's coming to the US in March, and his plans are starting to solidify, more details as things become definite. what's sure is that he's doing a workshop and solo set at Oberlin on March 11/12, then going to Boston and playing a duo set with Jason Lescalleet there on the 14th (!!!). he'll stay in Boston and be part of a Christian Wolff set of performances through the 18th before coming to NYC. nothing is definite yet for NYC, but there are some extremely exciting things almost finalized which I'll post here if and when they are definite (a NYC concert would be on 3/20).

those are the only cities he's playing this time, Oberlin and Boston sponsored this trip and he needs to get back to Europe on the 22nd because of other commitments.

OK, here is the update on the NYC part of this. it's still a bit in flux but it's set enough so that I wanted to let people know about it in case they wanted to come in from out of town:

3/17-21: WKCR will be doing a Keith Rowe marathon for somewhere around 100 straight hours in conjunction with his 70th birthday, pretty much everything he's ever been part of that's been released along with interview/s, unreleased material, maybe simulcasts of live shows, the specifics are still being solidified.
3/20: solo/solo/duo night with Sebastian Lexer at a venue still TBA at Columbia. the duo will be the first time the two have played together.
3/21: two duo sets, first with Sean Meehan, then with Jason Lescalleet, also at a venue TBA at Columbia.

Rowe will be playing here at 9pm on Friday, March 12th in Fairchild Chapel (50 W. Lorain St.). Not sure about the details on the workshop yet as they are still being worked out.
