No man, woman nor child left one of their shows unscathed then but maybe it's just me or the nude dancers, the two drummers, the fireworks or the acid flashbacks.
If the list were "top 100 live shows", I'd understand your point.

Their records don't hold up.

Come to my place, we'll get completely gooned, put on Twin Infinitives and recreate Butthole Surfers gigs circa 1985-1988.

You still won't like the record, and if you do, well, I live 5 minutes from the Viaduct.

This is probably true enough to frighten me.

Both parts.

except that having experience the live show is going to change your reception of the album, as well. if anyone was trying for 'best', they might have a problem. but among favorites, it's as good an excuse as any. dug the show, heard the album and it reminded you of the show, liked the album. works for me.

Took the words out of my mouth, mudd. I was actually gonna preface with a spiel about the subjectivity of 'best' (hell, I mean Jon Wayne isn't exactly an example of great musical prowess).

Quite a few of the albums I, and I'm sure others, chose are inseperable from the memories attached to them. In fact reviewing my list there are a couple that are really dear and meaningful to me that I don't know if I might never listen to for years (or ever again).

If there are 100 albums that Smith likes hell I'd be pleasantly suprised. Anyway I'm off to blast Rembrandt Pussyhorse till my ears fill with pus.

Yeah, I conveniently chose to ignore the "flashbacks" part of the post.

Is it really reasonable to assume that because I don't like the Butthole Surfers (oh shit, I hope Banjo doesn't post here), I don't like anything ?

I have seen Smith's collection.

On paper, that is. Also, this list of his favorite albums too.

i kinda figured. also, people wouldn't think you hated everything if you remember to talk about things you don't hate occasionally. but it's ok, really.

Yeah I knew it was only part of it though. Like there were no LPs or something.

I wonder if I still have it. Plus there weren't like 50 Beach Boys items like there should've been.

Yeah, I lost the drive to update it around the time I lost the drive to listen to or like music, like '97-ish.

Some stuff made it on, but yeah.

And yeah, no vinyl was there, how troubling !

I only listen to Danny & The Dressmakers now anyhow.

And only one song.
