Marc Behrens - Unit
Christina Kubisch - Diapason
Steve Roden - Light Forms

Could there be a case that a recording demands that you pay no attention to it?
Works at low volumes, through room speakers -headphones would defeat the purpose-

Made with basic elements, no apparent direction and a good degree of randomness. But tactile too in a way making you feel you need to move around it so as not to break or disturb anything.
These 3 seem to work that way.

Any views? recommendations?

According to the measurements on the background, General Echo is about 10 inches tall

Super important to the lineage of dancehall

Jace Clayton -- The Julius Eastman Memory Depot (a large part of this sounds like a Keith Tippett concert)
Guthrie/Kamerman -- Sinter (Broken Music played the whole thing on Sunday)
The Oh Sees -- Floating Coffin (http://stereogum.com/1328692/thee-oh-se ... deo/video/)
v/a -- Imaginational Anthem Vol. 6 (I have all these and it's apples n' oranges but the best pure comp of the litter by a country mile)
Marc Baron -- Une Fois, Chaque Fois (so good again and again)

cornford/rodgers - boring embroidery

been getting peace of mind from this, for a couple weeks now. semi-related, i would sometimes have this on in one room, and the recent dedalus/beuger/frey playing in another room, at low-moderate levels, softened by the desktop computer fan and street noise coming through a window. made for a nice blended series of sounds and new, surprisingly complementary harmonic/percussive combinations.

Hahaha, I never noticed the scale of the cover image there.. nice. Echo was the man, I'm a huge fan. Like too many late-great reggae/dancehall artists, it's so sad that he passed so young.

Geir Jenssen (aka Biosphere) presents two ultra vivid and dynamic field recordings of the "Lighthouse of the Mediterranean" - an active volcano on the northern coast of Sicily. Made on July 19th 2012 at 9:30pm by the edge of Stromboli's crater, 924m above sea level, both pieces ironically sound as though they were captured underwater, but in fact document the active volcano spitting molten rocks and ash into a night sky against a gentle breeze.
