I'll consider that point when I give his stuff another spin.Wombatz wrote:he should maybe hire a new drummer though. he's wonderful elsewhere, but in his own group i find his playing strangely passive, as if every move might endanger or unduly remove the listener's attention from the composerly framework.walto wrote:Tyshawn Sorey, Alloy (with pianist Cory Smythe and bassist Chris Tordini)

SqD, that Mamas and Papas record featured in the excellent play we saw last night, "Can You Forgive Her?" (not based on the Trollope novel), by Gina Gionfriddo.

Tim Hecker - Love Streams

The new album by Tim Hecker. Can't say I am too into his older stuff, but this one is playing now nicely.

I've just got through a dismal week or so listening to the entire Coil discography, which has unfortunately only served to confirm what I thought about them before. Terrible trashy synth patches, dull, unimaginative mixes, and - unless you go in for all that dumb Hidden Reverse John Dee angel alchemy ley line fairy (in both senses) bullshit - awful lyrics. I suppose some Crowley cult will now pronounce a fatwa on me, but it's a risk I'm prepared to take.

Funny! Leo probably considers himself a music business traditionalist.Dan Warburton wrote: Wow, that's a pretty obscure Leo there - you must have quite a collection Steve (but I'll bet you haven't got mine: Mr Feigin withdrew it from the Leo Catalogue when I blew the whistle on him for selling the music online and not passing on the $$$ to the artists).
I'm an Evelyn Petrova completist (possibly THE Evelyn Petrova completist), and Leo's her label.
